Raider I and Raider II

By bisahas1, in X-Wing

Yesterday's Star Wars: Armada Wave II news mentioned the option of selecting either the Raider I or Raider II for your Armada fleet. Could this be forecasting a similar choice in Xwing? If it's just a matter of different upgrades/cost, all it would take is for the Fantasy Flight to print an extra two cards (perhaps even one if the aft or fore is not effected). If it's a change of stats then we would just need the ship's base to be double sided (which it already is for the CR-90, just with a minimalist star field).

So what do you think the difference will be or you want to see? Will there even be both in Xwing or will this only be for the Raider in Armada?

Here is the quote from the article: "Whether you field your pre-painted miniature as a Raider I-class Corvette or Raider II-class Corvette, the Imperial Raider Expansion Pack offers you plenty of ways to customize it for battle with either squadrons or capital ships."

From what I understand, in Armada there are at least 2 options for each ship anyway. Could be wrong though.

Ah, I just checked the preview for the Victory Class Star Destroyer and that seems to be the case. My excitement for more options to customize the Raider got the best of me!

I also think we saw the spread with all the cards, there were no duplicates for the "pilot" cards.

Every ship in Armada comes with 2 versions, so that doesn't actually mean anything for X-Wing. It's just the Armada version of different PS pilots sorta.

In Armada the the naming convention seem to be tied to weapons load out. Just take a look at the number and color of dice based on ship name.

In X-wing you get a lot more options to weapons load out based on hard points. Because of this I don't see multiple card names for the Raider.

Could be a Raider only modification akin to Combat Retrofit, but I'd think it's more likely just a feature of Armada, as others have said.
