Issues with Fighter Squadron Bases

By EdSales, in Star Wars: Armada

I went to a friends house today with my Armada Core Set and opened the box for the 1st Play. We went about assembling everything and was only able to connect 2 of the Fighter Squadron Bases. The base has a half circle hold in which the peg should go into and lock. Unfortunately, all but 2 of the pegs had the half cut circle, most were either a full circle, or shortened because they attempted to half cut it and just cut the whole peg down a notch. Anyone else have an issue with this? I was able to make it work with a Hobby Knife by turning the half circle into a whole circle so the peg could go down, and it was the only issue I had with my entire core set, but it was disappointing to say the least.

That's the first I've heard of it, and I know a lot of people who have bought a lot of core sets.

Sound like you got a defective one. You should talk to your seller or FGG.

Contact FFG. They will replace it.

I had the same problem with about half of my fighter stands. I just took an exacto knife and widened the peg holes, and then added some CA superglue to hold the peg in place. Be careful with glue spread, because I had a couple of the initiative tabs get stuck and need some work.

Likewise-- i had the same problem, except just about all of mine were faulty in some way-- only 4 ended up working. I contacted support and new bases are supposedly on the way. I've not received any tracking information, but I'm guessing that probably isn't something they do.

I had that problem with one stand as well. I'll have to contact them I guess.

I eventually managed to force all of mine, but I had issues with a few bases, as well

After I modified the base hole with a hobby knife, I got 9 of the 10 Bases in good working order. The 10th, the peg was wide at the bottom but thinned out till it got to the thick part, so it kind of just slides around in a circle like a cirus ride. Won't bother FFG with a replacement as I plan to buy 2 Imperial Fighter Squadron Boxes. But if those bases suffer the same faultiness......

... then you will take advantage of FFGs excellent replacement service, drop them a short message and have pristine replacements in your hands a few days later, right?

They do have great service, I've never had a single quality issue from FFG. A friend of mine used them and had pristine replacements within 10 days.

No problem with getting the pegs in , just that i only got nine. Waiting on a replacement now, hopefully won't take too long

Edit - as a matter of interest I raised the request on the 29th and it still says in process with no updates... How long does this stuff usually take? I guess it might be they just don't have spares yet...

Same problem here, same solution.

Ha, just got the email saying my replacement has shipped

Grats!

FFG does have fine support in my experience.
