sorry about stupid questions but it is impossible to find anything here.

I have a question about ancient one attacks, if some AO attack is i dont know will check(+X) and investgators who fain this check lose something (gate, trophy, clue token, etc.) and if someone has only one item he needs, does it mean he cant fail the check or be devaured? or he just lose that item and die next round when AO attack ?

Yog-Sothoth (gate trophy), Shub-Niggurath (monster) and Nyarlathotep (Clue) will devour you if you have 0 left during the GOO's attack, even if you pass the check. You're also devoured IF you fail the check and have only 1 of the required item, meaning you discard the one you have, leaving you with 0 -> poof.

Exactly how I play. If you spend all your clues during battle with Nyarlathotep, you aren't devoured immediately. But you better hope those clues will do him in: when Nyar's actual attack comes up, if you have 0 clues you are dead.
