Do the two Psyker-Powers stack? The Burning Fist and the Biomancer Hammerhand?
Fist of the Northstar
Well the rules state you can maintain multiple powers and many other things in Dark heresy stack, so I would say in general psychic powers do stack within reason. As for those particular powers... I would say yes but there is little benifit to having both at the same time. Hammerhand gives you natural weapon (fist) and you use your SB x 4, where as burning fist gives you 1d10 on your fist (Same as haveint nat weapon fist) but makes it deal Energy damage. In essence you would gain the damage from Hammerhand but be dealing a mix of Energy and Impact damage. Maybe do a half half?
The effect would still be really really cool though, firey punches of doom that can rip through light tank armor.
and a possibility of setting the opponent on fire. Thats evil.
The paragraph "Cumulative Effects" on page 164 of the rulebook clearly states that benefits generated by Psychic Powers do not stack. However I always found this rule very illogical and imprecise in most cases. The only justification i could imagine is that the power of the warp is never to be understood by sane men and simply too chaotic for generating the same kind of benefit mutiple times.
It is difficult to apply. In this case one could say that both powers increase the damage the psyker inflicts with its hands(->same kind of benefit -> doesn't stack). On the other hand one could argue that hammerhand mainly increases the SB while Burning Fist changes the damage type to Energy (different benefits), thus their combination will deal 1d10+4xSB in Energy damage. I personally prefer the latter one.

Well stacking implies the same bonus, so that does make some sense. Example, you can't benifit from 2 powers that increas your streagth, the greatest modifier takes presidence. That does make sense.
For this power the only stacking effect is the damage which wouldn't matter any way because it makes them 1d10 damage not +1d10. I agree with the 1d10+4xsb E.
I don't remember if this was an errata or a house rule, but our group has not allowed the stacking of hammer hand with other psychic powers in the past. I am definitely on the fence with this one as I can't see why a psycher cant stack powers if they can mainfest and maintain them
If it was my game I'd allow it as the modifiers are different
that gives me a good idea for a chaos spawn...a Hellboy of sorts you know the stone burning hand maybe make him an aspect of khorne or like a living mutant saint i cant decide

Heh that could be a lot of fun, give him Furious Assault talent and I think you got a good Hellboy ;D
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the main advantage of this be to remove the Primitive quality from the Hammerhanded fists?
