Okay so at our league the other night a few ruling questions came up that we needed answered.
The Red Lotus of the Sun reads:
R Commit: After your opponent plays an ability that commits, destroys, or removes a card from your staging area, cancel that ability's effects. If your character is Kyo, you may discard 1 momentum to play this ability instead of committing this card.
Ira-Spinta reads:
E Your opponent adds 1 non-character card from your staging area to your momentum: Add 2 non-character cards from your opponent's staging area to their momentum.
and Self Sacrifice reads:
E Destroy this foundation, discard X cards: If your attack deals damage, your opponent adds X non-character cards from their staging area to their hand. If your opponent is left with fewer than 6 cards in their staging area, your Combat Phase ends.
The question really just comes down to dose red lotus cancel these effects. The way I read it it dose, Both these cards remove cards from your staging area to another zone in the game. Spinta being your staging area to your momentium. Sacrifice being your hand. So dose Red Lotus stop these much like I think it dose?
The other question is, Heel Snipe vs Stand off
Heel Snipe reads:
After you play this card as an attack, commit 1 card in play and enhances may not be canceled during this attack's Enhance Step.
Stand Off reads:
E Commit 2 foundations: This attack gets -4 damage. Your opponent may commit 2 foundations to cancel this effect.
E Commit 2 foundations: Your attack gets +4 damage. Your opponent may commit 2 foundations to cancel this effect.
So the question is can you cancel eaither enhance from stand off on heel snipe. I personally think you cant do to the advance rules saying that the cant take presidnce over the can.
