I would love to see a story that centers around the imperial pilots, they were loosly modeled after Manfred von Richthofen's famos fighter squadron.
it would be great to see or read a story from the tie pilots perspective.

Edited by bmwriderAre you talking Jasta 2, Jasta 11, or JG 1?
I'd love to see a Star Wars movie that centers on starfighters. I wouldn't actually care much which side they picked.
Yeah, but that animation isn't really a "story" it's a battle. A fun battle, but that's all there is to it. Hope the guy gets a budget to do a real series someday, that would be fun.
Not every story has to be a novel.
Sure, but even short stories typically name their characters. That animation doesn't, not unless you go to the guy's website and look up the backstories he made for them, which read like...novels...
So then it is a story?
So then it is a story?
The video isn't.
It would be cool to see a story told from the Imperial perspective.
Following a bunch of Academy recruits through the ranks, some becoming grizzled veteran aces, some entering the chain of command, the vast majority dying in unpredictable, shocking and spectacularly grizzly ways.. everyone's wearing a red shirt, no one's safe...
...kind of like Game of Thrones, but in spaaaaaaaaace.
Have you checked out I.M.P.S. The Relentless? It's on Youtube. Its about 40 minutes of fan film dedicated to the stories of men and women in uniform in the Empire. Its not all pilot related but there is a section about the flight crews that make planetary landings happen.
I'd be down. But a SW TV show kind of scares me. You need a massive budget to do anything Star Wars. Movies can do it because they only last 2-3 hours. Try making 10 hours of show for a season. Maybe if they massively shrunk the scope of the show and you concentrated on just a few characters, it could work.
It would be cool if IMPS had proper backing and funding to be a legitimate part of the SW franchise.
I'd love to see a series about the 181st and Fel, but I really want to see the X-wing books made into movies or a t.v. show also (particularly Allston's books, and I think Starfighters of Adumar would make a great movie)
Should be in the off topic subforum.
Also yes, a series entirely about the space battles would be great.
yes yes and yes, I am tired of the majority of the stories being centered around those rebel terrorists
I'd love to see a TV show like this. Hopefully, they'd run it on Netflix first so I don't have to watch commercials
It could be done a la Agents of Shield. Maybe telling the back story of the pilots in the new movie. If not main characters, they could incorporate Fel and the 181st as a rival squadron or some such.
Hell yeah.
I love watching Imperials do their job. There are some truly unspoken heroes in The Empire.
I'd love a series based on Imperial fighter pilots. Nobody would be safe - everybody could die at any moment. It's inherent to the nature of TIE combat. Plus, it'd allow for a change of perspective, to see how the common flyer saw things during the Galactic Civil War, to see the impact of propaganda and shaped messages.
Even better, maybe Disney would coordinate with FFG and have a Raider patrol group with some of the FFG-developed pilots starring in the show. That'd be pretty epic.
Wow! So many good ideas.
I think there are some intersting character development possibilities there
They start out as green idealistic invincible
They lose some of their buddies, realize they are not invincible
maybe they are ordered to bomb a village or destroy a freighter full of refugees, which makes them wonder if they are on the "right side" or not. Is there a right side? who decides that?
follow orders or do what's right?
they realize that sometimes the "old man upstairs" will throw them away for nothing.
maybe one or 2 of them become mid level officers and gain a different perspective, a more "top down" view, and this causes conflict between them and their former squadron mates.
none of this is new of course, its all been around in one form or another since there has been a military, but it might be cool to put an imperial skin on it
although i am not really a prequel guy, I've written part of a novel about being a clone, I'll have to post a link to it sometime and see what you all think. I think there are some really interesting issues that would come up as a clone, especially as a small unit commander who can still mostly think for himself.
starts out serving the republic and indoctrinated with those ideals, but watches as his men die to protect something that crumbles around him and becomes something else.
At some point he realizes the republic is gone, and for him that point is order 66
and so it goes from there

And then the ones who didnt rank up realize the atrocities the Empire commits.
They attack a Rebel cruiser and accidentally kill thousands of innocents in the battle.
Their higher ranking friends show a lack of sympathy and empathy.
The squadron mates decide to go AWOL and defect to the Rebellion.
The show becomes about the Rebellion... D'oh!
So, you know, Black Sheep Squadron in X-wings and TIE Fighters?
Would lov eto see the Tie Fighter Youtube video made into a Tv series or movie.
yeah an X-wing TV series "Rogue squadron" like the old Black sheep squadron show would be too cool!! but please no over the top beer drinking fighting "female" hot shot pilot just trying to be one of the guys cliche!! just have them be NORMAL and more like the book characters. Dont get me wrong I liked Starbuc in BSG but its been done bury it. Also while on the topic of black sheep squadron i LOVED the mechanic in that show. would love to see some mechanic character interaction that actually explains away some of the Star wars PFM stuff..lol I mean those things done fix themselves!! lol of course i am just a bit Biased.. ![]()
