I was led to believe that there'll be a new REVISED (ie, no errata - hopefully!) HARDBACK edition of the Inquisitor's Handbook...

Yes they are. At least it's what they say in the category "Upcoming":

They do not directly talk about a hardback, but afaik it's the only version they still produce.

If you look in the corner or on the back of your soft cover IH or PtU you will see no Fantasy Flight Games Markings. The soft covers are the original Black Industries versions.

I just bought it and it is a hardback and it contains the errata.
