Small RTL clarification about trait dice upgrade

By Iminent, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hello ,

Since in Vanilla we never got to actually upgrading all heroes to 5 trait dice i never noticed that we only have 4 tokens for magic upgrades for example.

what happens when we would need 5 tokens to get all heroes to 5 dice ? for example: we play Jaes (2 magic trait start) and Andira(3 magic trait start)

we wanted to upgrade both to 5 dice but only had 4 tokens for upgrading. is this intentional ? are we supposed to only make 4 magic trait upgrades ... if so .. this means one of the heroes will always have -3 dmg at gold lvl (provided that he doesnt use fatigue to upgrade dice)

You are limited to the number of counters available for upgrades. That is only 4 tokens available for additional black dice for each of Melee, Ranged or Magic Traits.

Purely aside from that, it is generally foolish to upgrade to 5 black dice. Doing so means you cannot add additional dice after rolling. Better to upgrade to 4 blacks then upgrade one of the blacks to a silver. Then you will still have the option of adding a single dice (black, silver or gold) with fatigue after seeing the result of the attack.
