Set 4 Ruling Questions for Jaffer and Rob

By WayToTheDawn, in Rules Discussions

the rulings on this game are slowly becoming like yugioh's...decided by drunken monkeys. hey FFG...when translating cards, lets actually pay attention to the wording on cards before you just stick them on paper. stupid rulings like this turn playable cards into garbage. i dont agree on the ruling on squall, cuz that makes pegasus and wishing lamp garbage as well.

Yea I had been wondering that too cause Squalls effect is dumb and all the people i play with agree and we just allow him to get a hollow bastion card back cause he seemed like he was meant to get yuffie back anyways lol

As I understand it, Jaffer went to the designer of the game for these rulings so it's not like some guy who had nothing to do with the game made some rulings and expected everyone to follow them.

Hello,

I have a lot of question about the 4th set. Can I put in my eck 3 lvl 1 destiny island and 3 lvl 2 destiny island from the set 4?

Can I play 3 behemot lvl 5 and 3 lvl 6 from the set 4?

can ansem have equipment cards? and if yes what are the equipment for him?

What are all the modification for the new set?

What are the good card for a dark deck form the new set? The new set is very good for nobody and light deck because players have 12 attack but for riku or ansem it is hard to have it.....

Thank you

Yes, yes, yes (there aren't any), check here for all the cards in set 4: http://www.universaltcgs.com/KHDBPage3.html and as to the dark cards, good luck? The decks are still weaker than the light ones, but they've gotten better. OXIII is the new Dark. And before anything had the chance to come along, Roxas is the new OXIII.

- Does the Set 4 Leon pull a Hollow Bastion World Card or a Hollow Bastion Themed card?

Just the Hollow Bastion World card.

just thinking that this makes no sense because then wouldnt all cards with the "insert world card here" text only work when you play the world card? this really confuses me.

so does that mean when hades lvl 8 is out and says you cant play "olympus coliseum" cards just mean that you cant play the world card?

or you can only draw for pegasus if you play the "olympus coliseum" world card?

I asked about that, I'll let you all know when I get a reply.

As did I...so I'm sure we'll get a response later today and let you guys know.

I seriously want them to go over all there rulings and be able to justify them because some of them are ...borderline crazy.

1) How does the damage modifier for magic doubling worlds and Wisdom Form work, both separate and together? For instance, if I am on “Deep Jungle lvl 2” and I play a “Blizzard” and then another “Blizzard” is the damage for the second “Blizzard” doubled, or how does that work out? (Checking on a ruling that was in the original version before I took it over)

2) Does Sea Neon negate the new “Fire” spells that have Magic/Attack on them?

3) When you play “Pegasus” do you draw a card for him?

4)Does Olympus Coliseum (the world) count towards “Pegasus” ’ effect?

5)How does “Leon” ’s effect in Break of Dawn work? Like Pegasus where it’s any card with the emblem on it?

6)How do the new Level 3 spells (Fira, Bliizara, and Thundara) work with being doubled? Is the additional damage added in before or after doubling?

Not really a rules question, but why are the chakrams called rings?

so we'll see momentarily.

1) really isn't a question, and they really never did need to rule on it. Reading the cards that double (like worlds, for instance), they all say that the multiplier is increased by one for each doubling effect. Thus, each effect that doubles increases the multiplier. The first goes to 2, then to 3, then to 4, etc.

While we routinely have questions about wordings and their clarity, this is no Beast, and thankfully doesn't use somewhat uncommon words (re: cumulative. no, not bitter). The need for a ruling in the first place, followed by someone misunderstanding it has caused this to be in question.

Yeah, I know. But it's better to get it cleared up now then later when someone finds a way to gimp Phil.

A friend of mine ask'd the other day why they didn't do the same thing they do in Magic, where one card's been changed from its previous version to make 'more sense to the public' (he went on with the showin of two 'Wrath of God' cards), then all previous cards have the same applied effect (if they're consider'd the 'same card'). Yes, I understand people would have to memorize certain cards 'n the sort, but hey, we play the game enough to just look at the name 'n level 'n know exactly what it does. What's a simple lil 'world attatchment' to learn?

If I could just remember the word he used... started with an 'e', methinks..

I dunno. I'm tired 'n need a nap..

I believe the word your thinking of is Errata. It means to add or change text to a previous card so that is fits better with current rulings and whatnot, or if it's too powerful and needs weakening.

I'm so tempted to write an unnofficial Errata thread...It's an idea I've been playing with all week after looking at some of the Set 4 mistakes.

This has been bothering me for a while. About Player/XIII decks, can you have multiple Nobody cards of the same name in your Friend Area like dark decks? The Player/XIII cards doesn't say about it. So, I'm assuming they follow the unique rules?

No, they don't follow the Unique Card rules. I presume they forgot to add this extra piece of text because Player/XIII cards used as Friend do still follow the Unique Card rule.

I support the new Errata thread Truffles.

Hmm...I've got nothing to do whilst this patch downloads (16 hours so far, still not done...) so I'll get to work right after I finish this Axel signature.

I second this motion. After set 4, as much as I love the cards, I am more confused than ever about cards and what they do, and I always seen this game as easier to learn then most others. I may have to strat retracting that statement.

I also support the errata too cause technically thats how me an my friends are playing right now for fun since not all of my friends can buy a lot of the new cards.

An Errata Thread would be nice.

Feel free to add this one I just got from Jaffer:

DiZ

_v_ Place five counters on this card if "Riku" is your Player Card. Each counter adds +1 to DiZ's Support Value. During each phase of your turn, you may remove one counter from this card to add +1 to your Player Card's (Riku's) Attack Value. You may only remove one counter per phase from DiZ. Once the phase is over, the +1 bonus to Riku's Attack Value is lost and the counter is permanently discarded.

and also, incase no one noticed on my deck thread...Leon, Wishing Lamp, Pegasus etc....are only triggered off of the WORLD card:

2) For the purposes of those cards, I would say that when they refer to a card in "quotes", I would say that they refer to cards of that name. So a revised reading of "Wishing Lamp" would read: ...you may draw one card each time you play [a card named] "Agrabah".

I admit, the new "home world" icons are a bit confusing. As I understand it, when we are referring to cards from a particular home world, rather than World cards of that particular name, the name of the home world is bold italicized. For example, "...Halloween Town Friend cards are not discarded..."

I'm officially annoyed...*sigh* oh well...back to the ol' drawing board.

Well Valor Form has been screwed again.

>.< we should rebel like the americans did from the british. rofls! no more taxation = no more changing card's effect! Watch they are like the government, creating an environment to observe us...But how can they do that with cards you say? Simple, put a microscopic hearing chip with a GPS system type of crap on the card which is actually possible now for the GPS thing, iono bout the hearing chip XD. Now they know where we are at and know what we are saying...won't you be pissed off? I would...invasion of my privacy, and no one should take the "leadership" on observing people like test sugjects! Those cards would be very dangerous....watch out people rofls!
