vessery with.....?

so I wanna use vessery but I don't have any bombers, and until the x-1 title comes out my advanced still wont fit properly with him, so I was thinking

what do you guys think would be a good list/combo with vessery

FCS is definitely the best choice to get the most out of Vessery, because its only 2 pts and costs you nothing in terms of action economy. You really don't need anything more than that, although it works even better on a pilot with higher PS than Vessery (so the FCS activates before Vessery fires---although shuttle might be able to get a TL in first turn). Alternatively, decoy on Vessery allows you to switch PS with the FCS ship so that Vessery is always benefiting from the ally TL without having to worry about shuttle getting initial TL.

Veteran Instincts is not great on Vessery (only time I would consider it is with Brath, but even then, Decoy on Vessery might be better whereas Brath benefits more from VI, lone wolf or predator). Instead of Decoy, you could also consider calculation.

I would also ditch the weapons engineer for Vader (although dooming your shuttle makes Lone Wolf a more tempting choice for Vessery's EPT). That would give you a bit of a boost in firepower and allow you to deal with high agility targets like interceptors and possibly even Aggressors (assuming the shuttle lives long enough to get a vader crit in once its shields are down).

Since you have 4 points left, I would also slap a shield upgrade on Vessery (or if you do try decoy, then hull upgrade instead).

I disagree with this. I have flown with Weapons Eng. and without and it's a great addition. You want to be able to have a couple of targets with the Col and being able to put two TL out there is better than one. Also, you might have better luck if you put the title on the shuttle as opposed to FCS. You can stay out of range and just TL all day long. Part of the problem with the shuttle is you need to get close enough to TL, but then need to turn around constantly. This lets you sit on the edges and slow approach to get the best use of Col V. I haven't used the title a lot due to points, but it's not a bad upgrade.

Besides those, I went with a Tie Interceptor. I went for Turr Phennir w/ PTL and Shield Upgrade. You could also go with Soontir Fel, like everyone else in the world.

There have been several recent threads on defenders/vessery, so I suggest you check those out. Vessery + Decimater w/ Weapon Engineer has been an awesome combo for me.

I don't think weapons engineer is generally a bad card----but just because it works on some lists doesn't make it work on all. And I don't think its 'auto-include' when running Vessery. In his particular list, he lacks damage. Only 2 ships with 3 attack and 2 TIE's with 2 attack. I suggested Vader to help add damage. As for turning the shuttle around.....he doesn't need to. Use an academy as a 'break' (it moves first so put it in the shuttle's way so the shuttle can't go very far). Once your ships are in the furball, use the shuttle's red stop move or bump into other ships to keep it facing the furball. With Vader, it won't survive long enough to need to turn around anyway ;)

There may be better lists out there perhaps, but I was making a suggestion to help with this specific build, and I don't think Weapons Engineer is going to make much of a difference in this case.

it should be 3 academy pilots sorry my bad, the title or calculation sound gd, im not much of a fan of the current decimator plus friend meta at the min... I no burn the witch lol

I agree, it is quite good with Vessery, as you do not advertise which single ship you will be targeting but forces your opponent to guess which of the two.

I guess I generally like to keep my ships alive. :) Vader can be a great counter to high agility targets, though.

My Vessimator is very similar.

- Kenkirk w/ Isard, WE, RCaptive & Determination (which usually discards at least one crit each game)

- Vessery w/ HLC & Outmaneuver (VI up to PS8 doesn't help enough, and shooting Falcons 4v0 or Corran 4v2 is hella fun)

Vessery with Mangler and Calculation.
