I was attacked by another character. Before we rolled combat dice, I drank my potion of strength to add +2 to my strength roll.

Is this allowed? Are you allowed to use objects (drink potions) outside of your turn?

Sure. Unless the card specifically states can only be used on your turn (which I don't think the PoS does). Or do you not use a Weapon if someone attacks you when it's not your turn ?

The ironic thing was I was the priest so I couldn't use a weapon in battle. Alas, my drinking of the potion of strength was not enough to prevent the warrior from mauling me. And then the assassin assassinating me. It was a very brutal game. But fun!

Nah, if you're the Priest, no reason to save things for later, you're still going to be a sucky one. Might as well spend it while you can, hope you die and get reborn as someone useful !
