We will be starting ours up the week before T6 comes out. I was Just curious if anyone else has done anything with it locally and has any observations to share. Just building my first Tira death deck for the format i've noticed I need to pay a lot more attn to my block cards.
Mini-block format.
My play area was supposed to do it, but apparently they opted out of it until Tekken comes out, but because of the delays, the entire community, barring a few players, have quit the game. So now I have a mini block deck that is pretty much useless, but I hope that wandering master will be fun the first day of GenCon... unless it a 3 day event then I cant play in it T_T.
They'll be back...tekken 6 is amazing.
We ran one at the beginning of this month, and will run another one next month.
Games are faster, fun, and there's a bunch more stuff to think about.
Astrid is a monster because of the amount of damage she can put out.
Attacks become equally important as blocks, as attacks. There are many nuances you need to pay attention to such as "Which one of these do I block?"
Something that I did in one of my decks was actually run character cards for the 6 checks and for the blocks. That's kickin' it old school.
Many characters are viable, including JJ (UK Champ), Astrid, Ivy, Yi-Shan, Nightmare... It's really wide open, and a lot of neat strategies and ideas area available.
Ya, I actually had to include chars as blocks and 6 checks. Just screwing around playing a game with my bro it did actually feel like it was getting back toUfs' roots (minus void control). The games of Tira vs. siegy were great!
Anyone try zhao in your area? While obviously she wont be one of the most explosive chars, seems like she has some tricks. That and I've got sets of her attacks I want to run.

I've had to deal with Hata's full out Zhao for Standard format. I'm kind of afraid to break her out for 5star format because she's kind of mean.

Dude mini-block ZD is amazing. You'll see me at GenCon with her..
I just traded my Miniblock Zi MEI
i was loving my t2 explosiveness... not many characters can take all of those mutliples T_T
I play Yi Shan exclusively in tiny syphillis.
So I've been playing this game for a while, and I keep hearing the term mini-block; but I have no idea what it is.
Mini block is cards with 5 point shurikens only
Ah. That make so much more sense now.
Mini format is stupid xD

Why? Or was the that a Sarcasm Smiley?
Mini block I think will be more interesting once the next two sets come out. For now, there just isn't enough of anything to truley see what block 4 will look like. At the moment yes it looks like aggro is going to be good, but for all we know Tekken could be like Cutting Edge (which frankly wouldn't shock me, FFG isn't exactly a reliable company and all) and come close to ruining the game again.
It sounds like my local players aren't at all interested, which is a shame.
I love mini-block. I have at least 3 mini-block decks: Theme Cervantes, Theme Siegfried, and Theme Yi Shan/Lu Chen.
My Astrid/Ragnar is close, and would only require a few modifications.
My Pharaoh deck contains too many Anakaris cards to be mini-block. But it's fun.
Mini-block is absolutely amazing. It actually rewards high-risk play.
I play Ivy exclusively in mini block, stringing 8 attacks together in one turn and drawing half your deck FTW!
Haha, though in all seriousness i'd watch out for or build *Algol*, **Temujin**, *Ivy or *Astrid. All of these charcters are quite consistent and are (arguably) in a tier of their own I find, especially Algol and Astrid. They're beastly good.
Perhaps later i'll post my decklists for mini format.
And Cervantes can do well. He's schizophrenic and inconsistent, but I think we've finally reached a place where any character can win "on any given Sunday" as the STG guys wanted way back when.

Hm.
I need to build Siegfried. I have 4 Soul Caliburs.

Then just forgive them
Siegfried is pretty strong I say, he makes weenies in powerfuls and powerfuls into Ubers 0.o
So IMO the best charcters in mini block are:
Ivy
Algol
Astrid
Siegfried.
NOTE : Temuijin has been removed from the list because i felt he wasn't reliable enough. ;/
However, I must agree with the one armed pirate any given character can win on any given sunday in mini block. Just gotta check right and build a good enough deck.
Honestly my only complaint with Mini block is that other than Reaver's axe, Psuedo soul calibur+edge and arguably POTM none of the assets are actually worth using. Same can be said for actions.
Cheers

You're missing a big one...but I don't want to ruin the "Wandering Master" surprise.
I can also think of several exceptions for assets as well as actions. To name a few: Crown of the Forgotten Secret, Eiserne Drossel, Sailor's Rest, Valkyrja's Shield, Soul Stealing, Warrior's Path, Dual-Wielding, and the underrated Aura of Strength to name a few.

Oh yeah I forgot about Scroll of the abyss. Ok taht's playable too.
Still, though I feel I may as well just play a spam foundation in there place to assist attacking.
Cheers
