The Fat Ninja needs a chance

By NoobFighterFTW, in UFS Deck Building

I want to build E Honda****. Earth main, but I'm willing to splash order if need be. Whats my best bet at going about this?????

And yes I'm for real, I do want comments about this, good/bad anything. I know he's not a very good character, but I'm thinking defensively, he's actually really good. Let me know.....

Well, I think Earth/Order would be the way to go for you. E. Honda:: is a blocking defensive character, which means that Order (which is the symbol with the most card drawing capacity available) is probably the way to go, with Aquakinesis and the like available. After that, good luck, since i'm very unfamiliar with Order, since it's more of a control symbol (and I dislike control).

Splashing Order probably isn't a terrible idea, but I dunno if you really need it.

Just run all of the Earth tank/turtle foundations, all the Earth card draw (Hugo's support), and use Sardine's Beach Special / High Plasma Beam to kill

Honda basically has Rejection printed on his character, minus the lifegain, and then he gets to play easy blocks. That's about all you need...

load in siegfried's foundations should someone find a way to target your staging area, hugo's stuff for draw power, altered mind and body and all the earth life gain you can find (battle prowess etc), red cyclone of mother russia for a bit of defense just in case. Also use leona's speed pump foundations as well, so your opponent cannot block. inuman perception is a must in case you come across holding ground (don't forget to run it yourself it could save you). another life saver American made (reduce speed to printed, easier blocks)

Attacks, go with high plasma beam, but also sardine's beach special to tap your own stuff (so your HPB is even stronger).

Actions should include tag along as some decks rely on the character for some reason or another (raphael fight or flight springs to mind). Siberian training is another card for defensive work, as this'll mean your opponent will have to work a bit harder to hit you hard.

hope this all helps, as an aggro player myself i know what cards can screw them over. Best of luck mate.

Okay, so my usual E. Honda build is off Water, because I like using Your Mind is Known to Me (sweet combo, BTW.)

WIth Feline Spike now removed as his kill card, Sardine's Beach Special becomes the main weapon. Sadly, High Plasma Beam won't usually hit, because its speed will be lousy (even running Origins Unknown doesn't help too much.) It's still worth running, just not an entire playset. Who knows, with BRT gone, it might punch through more consistently... I'll have to playtest an Earth build.

I like to think of Tag Along as being four extra copies of Sardine's Beach Special that can double as control pieces in a pinch. Splash Order/Water for Tenacious, and you can grab Sardine's back every turn- winning the war of attrition. Holding Ground guarantees 8 damage, which makes Sardine's Beach Special *that* much better than High Plasma Beam IMO. Distractible can ensure a heavy hit, as well.

Program Malfunction and Ka Technique will handle most of the annoying stuff on the other side of the table. Criminal Past is very underrated in Honda, because he can soak up an attack before all the insane damage pumps have occurred, and then use Battle Prowess to gain it all back if they have the audacity to play another attack. Fast Food Lover and M-Type Combat Arts aren't quite as useful on their own.

With so few attacks, your control checks should be awesome. I believe that if built properly (esp. Criminal Past), he can easily hold his own against Hilde, or any other aggro deck. His static ability can only be *blanked* (Rashotep), and he's pretty beefy at 6/30. Like I said, it's a war of attrition with E. Honda; it isn't pretty, but it can be very effective.
