What's the best build against this meta? I have most ships, Rebels, Imperials, Scum. Just don't have Tantive IV (so no C-3PO).

The only problem is that it can be difficult to land the initial stress on some of the more slippery opponents (read: Phantoms), but you only really to do it once to make it predictable enough to jump on in the following rounds.

B-Wing swarm. Blues with Accuracy Correctors or Fire-Control Systems with a Tactician or Ion Cannon on one. Fly in formation, slow-rolling until you're ready to pounce.

One possible build I have is:

Soontir + PtL + AT + RGP + SD

Turr + VI + AT

Whisper + VI + ACD

It does well enough against most builds, but it is rather fragile.

I also have a double Aggressor build, but that build isn't doing all that well. Hard to maneuver a big ship without a turret or a rear arc.

Of course, I also have the standards - TIE Swarm, Deci+Phantom, Corran Dash, etc.

So, you're mostly seeing 2 ship lists, and most of those lists feature a turret accompanied by a relatively low-speed flanker (Corran, Keyan)?

I think BBBBZ (4 B-Wings, 1 Z) would be a strong choice in that environment, as might a list featuring synergized named X Wing pilots (You may want a Wedge + Vet instincts if you go this route in order to combat possible Soontir or named Phantom threats). A generic rebel swarm featuring a mix of rookie X Wings, Zs and B Wings would also probably do well.

For imperials, a conventional or mini TIE swarm should work pretty well.

One possible build I have is:

Whisper + VI + ACD

I really would not recommend a list like this one if you expect to encounter a lot of fat ships packing turrets. Your opponents are going to force you to roll a lot of evade dice since you can't dodge their arcs, and sooner or later you'll get an unfavorable result and lose an expensive ship too early in the match.

Personally I've been having good luck with 34 point Soontir, 4 academy pilots and howlrunner

Why is AC not good here?

Sense you don't seem to have all the cards for Panic Attack, Lets see if you have this.

Gold + R3-A2 + ICT (BTL-A4 title not required, but a nice option if you have it)

Blue + E2 + Tactician

Blue + Ion Cannon

Roak + ICT + Nien

You could Sub Roak for a Blue + Ion Cannon if you don't have a HWK. Roak gives you some nice options, but the extra B gives you more health, and a better ship in general.

Run this using the Debris fields which will combo well with the Ion. You have 2 stress ships, and 3 Ion. It's a nice mix of control weapons. Roak will help deal with Phantoms or Fat Chirpy. Against Deci Phantom, always go for the Phantom first.

I'd go with either 4 or 5 Scum Y Wings. Kavil and 3 Ys; AB turrets, unhinged mechs. 1 or 2 BTL (not Kavil). A bomb if you've got the points to spare.

The speed 3 Greens make Ys excellent dog-fighters...I've chased down Soontir with them. People just don't expect a Y to pull off 3 turns or to do a K-4, then run back towards you with a 3 strait...clearing stress. The ABs just murder high agility ships (they typically have very few hull/shields, so a single round can kill them).

5 PS2 Y Wings with AB turret. 2-3 BTL (YMMV). A minimalist list and you will likely run several turns with stressed ships after your first pass as you reposition, but 5 ABs and 40 damage can deliver a lot of unanswerable hits while taking a lot of beatings itself.

In each case, you need to stay in formation and run right at the guy.as fast as possible. Get a TL early and hold it until you get into R1 and you focus. Focus on 1 ship and kill it. You will lose a ship yourself, but then its 3/4 on 1. I'd kill the 1 ship escort first. Horns double tap (likely with FCS) can hurt you if you let him get a second round of double taps. He cant evade the ABs and most people forget the FAQ does not let him use tokens either. If he survives pass 1, K-Turn and rejoust. Pass 2 should kill him before he can trigger his 2nd shot. Don't be afraid to set up bumps along his likely routes of escape. You need to either pin him down with ships in R1 or let him haul butt and reset for another run at him.

If your facing a Falcon (Fat Han) and 3 Zs...kill the Falcon first. You will lose 2 ships regardless of which group (Falcon vs Zs) you kill. 3 Zs is 39 points. 2 barebones Ys are 40 points. Now you have to kill the falcon or you lose.

I fly Chewbo and Landash quite a lot and swarm builds make me laugh - feedback arrays doubly so - if the occasional mook is lucky and foolish enough to get in range 1 of that pair it'll be dead before it can do anything. At best your opponent will get 1 or 2 off in a game and that 2 additional damage isn't likely to be enough to swing the game.

With the exception of the reliably fearsome BBBBZ list, I'd give Z and TIE swarms a miss as a counter.

My nemesis for that build has been dual Agressors with autothrusters - they can be VERY hard to kill using ships like the outrider and Falcon which work best when they are moving away from their opponent.

That is quite possibly the most expensive $$ list in the game.

You would need 4 Most wanted boxes for the PS2 Z-95 and then you need 7 copys of the feedback. Though I forget what that came with......

I find one of the best ways to counter the large turrets is to block them.

If you can deny their action then that's half their list that's not able to do its job.

This in my experience is the biggest down side to running a two or three ship list.

If the meta it's healthy, there IS NO "Best Build." There are many strong build archetypes that all interact in interesting ways. I think we currently have the healthiest meta since Wave 3.

You're the first person I heard say this in a long time. Let's just say I don't agree. Turrets still dominate and that's the point of this thread.
