I am truly curious as to whether or not we will see such ships as the TIE droid or other ships from the Dark Empire comics, that is where the E-Wing came from, right?

also I think the K-Wing and the A9-Vigilance interceptor were also in that book series, the Incom I-7 Howlrunner also. and for our scum team the cloak shape fighter.

oh, we cant forget slave II either.

I like what they did with the aggressor and its ability sharing, would like to see something to that effect with the TIE-D Automated star fighters, cheaper so you could field 4 at a time, that would be cool.

but back on topic, I would not rule out anything we see in one game possibly showing up in the other = Raider is a good example.

the decimator does not fit in the title of the expansion for the ships in wave 2, so I am not surprised it isn't in there, but imagine if you will, wave 3 that will give you a box of 2-4 decimators with fighter escorts , and that may be the name of the pack, imperial escort ships, or system patrol force, but never the less, I think we can assume there will be a lot of cross over where size of craft dictates.

actualy there is a good chance of a no named aggressor with slightly reduced stats and without accsess to ig2000

I would be as giddy as a kid on Christmas morning if they announced the Hound's Tooth as a large ship for X-Wing.

And would you look at that, the canon version of the Hound's Tooth is only slightly longer than the Decimator, and FFG has totally fudged the sizes of ships before (the HWK isn't much smaller than the YT-1300 in the EU Legends material). In other words, everyone who has ever argued that "it's too big to be a large ship!" can promptly bite me. It's absolutely perfect for the next scum large ship (though since we already have a pair of those, it might be a while until we get it). But my inner man-child can dream, right?

I'd say it's more likely the next wave sees the release of the Jumpmaster 5000, bringing us Dengar and another unique small base ship for the scum to use, which they could use more of (right now, their only "unique" small ships are the Scyk and StarViper). By the same logic, the G-1A starfighter also strikes me as a strong candidate, as it'd also bring the duo of Zuckuss and 4-LOM into the fold. And I could see the JM5k having access to the salvaged astromechs (which only the Y can use right now) with the G-1A offering the scum a fighter with a crew slot.

I'm extrapolating from its stats in armada. It has 6 hp equivalents in that, same as Dash and the Slave 1. Both are 10hp agility 2 ships.

Physically its 22m long, similar to the IG-2000, but much wider, so definitely a large base ship.

If you're referring to my suggestion of big (possibly) front guns, this was referring to the fact that it had 6 forward facing lasers. Personally I doubt it'll have the 4 primary attack as the defender is also a 6 gun ship, but from a design point of view, a ship with a turret upgrade but with a bigger forward attack is an interesting place of design space not really explored other than non-outrider yt-2400s. A cannon and 2 dice turret primary might be an option, but this seems to have been done already. A HLC equivalent for the turret upgrade gives a while new range of options for y-wings and hwks too.

I'm still holding out for V-wings as a cheapy semi-outdated fighter for scum (maybe similar to an A-wing with a salvaged-astro slot), but I'd be fine with any of the above mentioned ships:

Something to this effect would be nice. It makes no sense, as the ship currently stands, that one cannot afford to fly 4 Defenders. They don't have turrets, 15+ hit points, or any kind of overpowering ability. (The white K-turn is nice, but not THAT nice) Flying 4 Starvipers and 4 B-wings has really highlighted how this ship was priced too high.

Imagine: A 3/3/1/2 with a dial of all seven speed three maneuvers. Two white s-loops and the rest are green. Throw in the 2/4/5 straights and MAYBE the speed 2 banks (at red) and you have a ship that does exactly one thing: Goes fast.

Elite pilots that get bonuses if you went faster than your opponent. No boost on this thing, you've already punched the throttle.

Pretty much. It's too lucrative to stop producing waves. Given they've already done two of the more radical Tie designs, the Tie Avenger is a strong possibility, and heck, if it goes on long enough they might start dragging designs like the A-9.

The only thing that is for certain is that FFG is in this for the long haul. Just remains to be seen how long they can maintain it without delving too much into the prequels or sequels.

Oh, I don't think they're going to stop--but I think they're going to have to figure out how to stretch the design space in a new direction in order to justify new ships, and it's going to be really hard to guess accurately what that will look like.

As for the A-9, it's hard for me to see what it would do. If you really wanted, you could do something like 2/3/3/0 with a 180-degree firing arc, give them an Interceptor-ey dial, and toss them out in the wild to see what happens. But if I were in charge, they'd be pretty low on my priority list.

The ship I'd like to see at some point is the TIE Aggressor. The Empire doesn't have a Small ship that can mount a turret yet, and that's something it might be cool to see happen--an Imperial counterpart to the Y-wing, so to speak. Give it the TIE Bomber stat line and a HWK-like dial, two missile slots and a turret slot. It could be a hit!

That depends on whether or not you've actually come up with anything plausible since last time.

The Empire and rebels are lacking any ship with an s turn. That right there is enough design space to justify a new ship. And your dated argument that hull and shield interceptors fill the Avenger design space has been disproven by their near disappearance under the current meta. They don't get enough back for the points investment. Plus with the introduction of autothrusters there is an even larger space for a high manueverabilty, SHIELDED ship that isn't reliant on being at range 3 or push the limit to survive.

And ships having similiar points cost isn't a justifiable argument to prevent new ships from entering the game if they offer new ways to play the game. I've designed my own ships and have had others vet it with actual game play and can attest their is still plenty of space for ships with unique and different playstills.

Hull + Autothrusters and even Shield + Autothrusters do just fine in the current metagame; both are more reliable than Stealth Device, and Shield Upgrade gives you at least a razor's margin of protection against the new crit builds that are floating around.

And any high-maneuverability ship with an EPT is going to run Push the Limit a lot. Again, you want a shielded Interceptor? Add shields to your Interceptor.

Having a similar stat line or similar point cost as an existing ship doesn't **** any concept. But having both of those things, plus a similar action bar and dial, probably ought to count as a red flag.

What I've been suggesting for a while is that the Interceptor and Defender are already very close to one another, and it would be difficult to get a wedge into that crack. The most recent change that affects that calculus is the fix for the Advanced--which actually makes the problem worse, since the Advanced now sits more-or-less where you'd want a TIE Avenger to be, thematically.

I'm sorry that a ship you clearly love is unlikely to make it into the game--really. But that isn't my fault.
