Anyway, I thought this was Sparta.
It's been over a year since FFG revealed a new Rebel or Imperial small base ship. That's a long time to wait for the Assault Gunboat, but it will be worth it. 
We might not've gotten any news updates, but we DID get a wave launched in that time, several errata/faq/tourney rule changes, and we've had a whole round of tournaments to play (Store Championships) with another round underway (Spring seasonals).
It's not like we've gotten nothing at all, here.

The problem with no new info is that it means we're six plus months away from new ships. Things get stale when there's nothing to look forward to. I wish there was a set structure to when things came out. Frustrating always being left in the dark.

I think they've states recently that they don't like the long waits after announcements, so hopefully this doesn't mean we have such a wait. If we do have a 6-7 month wait I bet the ships will be from Ep 7 and forced into a later release.

When was the Outrider announced last year? Reason I ask is that we are approaching the time that news of something new that will be first available at GenCon is coming up. I don't think they will sit on the Raider that long.
Well we still have the raider to look forward too but some news about some of the stuff in it would be nice or even better...a release date despite those never coming until the day before at best. Otherwise I would just snuggle up in your cockpit, put all your power in the thrusters and enjoy the ride it won't be long patience is always rewarded.

I got armarda last week only had a quick game but will get into it I think, didn't expect home one so early was a nice surprise.

Well, wave 4 was announced in February last year, and wave 5 was announced in June last year. So you could view it as we're overdue or not due yet depending on how you want to look at it.

You're talking about two different "we"s. A lot of us were happy with getting early info. Personally, I don't care if they ever reveal a single card before the ships come out. I just want to see what ship models are coming down the pipeline.
I'm still on the fence about getting into Armada or not, but dammit I will buy one of those Star Destroyer when they'll come out!!!

Honestly, they know they can hold out on X-Wing, they know even just hinting at a new upgrade card will light up the forums, and they know that this is the top selling game they've created. It's popularity isn't going anywhere. My assumption is that they're pouring their news on the Armada and Imperial Assault hype trains in order to hopefully draw in more people from their Star Wars fan bases (X-Wing) to look into and/or purchase other products from their Star Wars franchise.
X-Wing is still selling. X-Wing will always be selling. X-Wing can go for a whole year and still sell. Why not nudge that player base into other games to sell, you know, "Hey, guys, you love X-Wing, but I hear Armada is pretty awesome too, right?" and the expected reaction, and righteously so, would be "Oh, yeah! We love Star Wars miniatures, we love rolling dice, Armada has miniatures and dice... WE LOVE ARMADA."
As for people saying we complain whether its too much info too late or too soon, not even MtG holds out on players this long. We are creatures of habit, and FFGs record of spoiling new information is far from consistent.
