Ok, so if a monster finishes its move on a guard and activates it at the of the last heros turn, how does the guard behave. It states it can only attack from an adjacent space, but in this case its on the SAME square as the monster activating it. It also states that the guard always moves towards the closest dragon, in this case it would be the one that is standing on him! Therefore if he moves to an adjacent space, his moving AWAY from the closest dragon. I read this as that as long as a monster is stood on the same space as an activating guard, that guard can not be moved or used in any way. Have I interpreted this correctly?

How can two figures occupy the same space? They can't. None of those monsters should be ending moves occupied by guards.

Tile is a piece of map. Tiles are not squares.

This is exactly the answer. Figures can only interrupt or end their movement in empty spaces. The guards are not empty spaces, so this situation should never occur.

You have correctly deduced, however, that a space is not adjacent to itself.

Yeah, when I first did it, I had to reread it to see what it meant. Basically the rules are telling you that if a monster enters the tile ( that is the part of the game board that the guards are placed in), then the guards activate and move towards the monsters.It should also say the guards are treated as figures and are activated by the last hero. (Example as in my game: Merriod walks into the cabin and attacks guards. Guards activate on the next hero turn. There is only one Merriod on the cabin tile. The guard's only legal actions are to move to the closest adjacent space to the Merriod and roll a melee attack. *and in my case promptly murder said Merriod.* If there are no monsters in the area, the guards just sit there and do nothing. If the guards are already adjacent to the monster, they just attack. If there are two monsters, then the guards move toward the closest one and attack that one. And sorry, my phone sucks on this forum for some reason.

No one figure, be it monster, hero, ally, villager, lieut, should occupy the same space. The exception is if a hero is Koed. Then it's kinda like he's on the ground and someone is standing over him. (Hence why the hero tokens. )
