Card denial deck?

By Zeede2, in Gummi Garage

I've got a ton of the Duck Brothers, and was wondering if anyone ever built a viable deck using them? I built one, and it annoyed the heck out of my friend's WR deck, but in the end I didn't have enough to slow his World Racing down to win myself.

P.S. What does QFT stand for?

Yes, the Duck-Trio are quite viable and can make for some good field control if you're doing it right.

And QFT is short for 'Quoted For Truth'

Apparantly I give the worst advice ever so you might want to take this with a grain of salt.

But it seems like you might be able to fix that problem in your deck by adding cards to your deck that allow you to draw extra cards.

I'm talking about cards like Bambi, Bouncywild, Disney Castle, etc.

Stopra also allows you to specifically "Draw six cards", in addition to whatever else you have, so it might be worth considering.

Another point to consider is search cards. Since you're only pulling 3 cards per hand, it might help to have search cards that will help you quickly get the cards you need.

I guess you can always playtest to find out for yourself...

This is actually good advice...unfortunately it's 2 Sets old.

The deck that won GenCon last year ran Duck Bros. and heavy Stopra...but the inclusion of Phil and Monstro Level 1 in Set 3 knocked that deck out of viability.

So is there a way to build a viable Duck Bros deck with the release of Set IV?

Cameron

It's tough to say right now, as I've only had a day or two to mess around with Set IV.

From first glance though I'd say no, there's just too many better friends to be running and still not enough Phil hate for Stopra to be consistant. It's more possible than it was last set however...so it might (and that's a big might) be possible....I don't really wanna say either way right now, but it doesn't look good IMO.

Not likely ...Monsto lvl 1 and Phil will still be played extremely heavy for the most part.
