Need some suggestions on tweaking a list. The base configuration is pretty much set:
2x Blue Squadron B-wings each with Advanced Sensors, B-Wing/E2, & Tactician
3x Bandit Squadron Z-95s
That leaves me 8 points to allocate. What to do? (Yes, I could drop two B-wing upgrades to add another Bandit, but for the moment l want to stick with the above.)
Options considered:
1. Cluster Munitions on 1 (or 2) Z-95s, with Ion Pulse Missiles & Munitions Failsafe on another. I playtested this version of the list against other fighter-only lists and the missiles were of fairly low value -- but on the other hand, they may come in handy fighting large base Fat ships where the Z's need some extra oompf.
2. HLC on one of the B's, with a 1 point initiative bid. This gives some extra striking power at range, especially at 3, and works nicely with Tactician, but it's pricey and maks the one B-wing a big(ger) target ...
3. Mangler Cannons on both B's. This adds some punch at range 2 and 3 but I'm not sure if its as good an investment as the HLC.
4. Flechette Cannons or Flechette Torps on the B's, leaving 4 points for elsewhere. It's a little redundant to Tactician (though a nice double-stress at range 2 isn't bad) but both are a bit awkward to use and Flechette cannons trade down damage.
