400 pts Rebel Fleet Wave 1 Starfighter-Heavy

Obviously not for wave 1 tournaments, this list was created for competitive game with friends. This list requires moderate investments and I want to keep it that way.

Luke - 20 pts
5x X-Wing - 65 pts
2x Y-Wing - 20 pts
2x B-Wing - 28 pts

Assault Frigate Mk II B - 72 pts
Iblis - 25 pts
Expanded Hangars - 5 pts

Nebulon B Escort Frigate - 57 pts
Yavaris - 5 pts

The backbone of the list are its starfighters: I managed to spend all the points allowed on them. The ships are here mostly to support fighters with commands. Iblis provides much needed squadron command tokens. Two Escorts help fighters pierce through TIE Swarm with their Anti-aircraft fire. Dodonna's Pride does not support the squadrons directly - this little bugger comboes well with Precision Strike and Superior Positions. Both Objectives synergizes well with my starfighter-centric build. Hyperspace Assault is here to deliver Yavaris, Luke and both B-Wings near the enemy.

That's the theory.

This list will require an acquisition of a Core Set, an extra Nebulon, an Assault Frigate and one fighter pack. I don't insist on buying this packs exactly but keep in mind I want to keep expences moderate and I certenly do not want to buy second Core Set.

This looks like a solid Aero-space superiority list. A good number of Escorting X-Wings. Luke who both Escorts and doubles as a Bomber -- with one Black die & the ability to ignore shields.

The Neb-B Escorts are death on TIE's. Plus they have sufficient battery guns to erode the shields on Imp capital ships. The CR-90 makes an effective flanker.

I'll reserve detailed comment on the other elements until we see the final versions of their cards. As I understand their cards at this point, you have a solid list here. The AF should hold the enemy's attention -- at least for a few rounds. The CR-90 makes an effective flanker. And the B's and Y's should be able to finish off damaged Imps.

Recently I thought about different starfighter wing:

Luke - 20 pts
Wedge - 19 pts
Dutch - 16 pts
3x X-Wing - 39 pts
1xY-Wing - 10 pts
2xB-Wing - 28 pts

132/133 pts

One X-Wing less, another one upgraded to Wedge, one Y-Wing upgraded to Dutch.

Ace-led squadrons are more durable and have nice special abilities, but I'm not sure I really need extra dogfighting skills in the list.

I would replace a couple of X wings with A wings. A couple for QRF or leading the way to lock enemy star fighters into engagements your other fighters would join as a second strike or avoid to bomb.

This way you've got all flavors of fighter.

You have 1 X-Wing too many.

Very nice. If you don't mind me asking, why didn't you go with a Gallant Haven for the Mark II? I would think thay it would greatly extend the life of your fighters (although making maneuvering a little more difficult).

I really like your starfighter build. I will probably change up the capital ships a bit but the list with antilles and luke is definitely something I will use.

I like A-wings but they're not bombers so they wouldn't score the Precision Strike VPs.

I couldn't find spare points. That's also the reason why Adar Tallon isn't in the fleet. Any suggestions what to drop in order to fit Gallant Haven?

Personally not at all a fan of command 3 in any context, especially when you're relying on it to fling squadrons

But with Iblis (aka "mini-tarkin") you can pull the token + liaison cheat to ensure you always have the threat of squadron commands covering for you

it's hard to give up that reliability when it only costs 3 points :P
