How the Core Set broke the game

i like the idea with turreted ships u put in there like a rotating firing arc u have to chose wich direction it looks like North, South, West and East like it !!! but requires new bases...

the rest of ure ideas.... are bad not to mention the worst ive read so far in this forum ( no offense ) but still the turret idea is genius !!

Honestly, if munitions were buffed too much it would start to get a little irritating because you could just alpha strike someone's expensive ship right of the board. I feel like we could just have everyone start playing 110 point matches, where you could only spend the last 10 points on munitions. Essentially, 10 points of bombs/torpedoes/missiles for free. A handful of other things likes Countermeasures and Adrenaline Rush and Hot Shot Blasters could also be purchased with these 'free' 10 points.

To the OP : I LOVE your idea for munitions cancelling all dice if they hit. I don't think it should be a rule change at this point, but I'd love to see a modification that says that, like "Tungsten Coated Warheads: When a Secondary Weapon that requires a TL hits, cancel up to two defense dice of your choice". Combine that with new torpedo type that reads that if it hits it cancels two defense dice, so now you can use one or the other, or even stack both if you REALLY wanna be sure to do max damage.

I also like your turret idea. I'd like to see a new ship that somehow has this. Maybe it has 4 arcs like the Armada ships, and each turn it "Activates" one of them somehow. But for now, it'd be best if this was separate from the "Turret" mechanic. Treat it as a special firing arc.

You know, thinking about my original munitions fix, you could do it like this:

"Advanced Warhead Delivery System (or whatever)

Modification

1 point

When making an attack with a [Torpedo] or [Missile] weapon, after modifying dice, if you have more [hit] and [Critical] icons than the defender has [evade] icons, cancel all defense dice."

Worded like this, it prevents any Lt. Blount shenanigans, and by making it a modification you ensure that it can't be combined with munitions failsafe.

Now all it needs is playtesting! :D
