Why is the picture fuzzy? Did you actually render an animation of the case, and this is a still frame?

Welcome to the "intense hobby: board game dedication" club.

Yes, I actually rendered an animation of it. I am geek. :)

I've made the dimensions so it is just a bit wider than the main game board across the top so it can sit over the whole map like a brooding elder god...

And I've designed the whole thing so I can take AH with me to other players' places. Also, a case makes set up so much faster.

I also currently have a spare EL wire setup so, if I were totally nerding out I could add an eldritch glow to the case. [You know I'm going to. :)]

Right now, I have compartments built into the AH cases... In fact, one sec and I will get a pic of that.

My AH Collection

I used pink insulation foam to make the compartments, but it's too thick to get a lot of stuff in and the new case looks prettier and is less awkward to transport. Seven boxes is a bit extreme. :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKo0CddXivA and this is the anim of the case. More to come as the geekiness continues. :)

Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkgTxbSEdmQ

It ends up being two cases. The large case has:

  • 2 large drawers with 20 compartments each, for counters
  • 1 small drawer with 4 compartments for counters
  • Removable dice tower
  • Rack for 16 small card decks
  • Rack for 12 large card decks
  • Back compartment for game boards and rule books
  • Back compartment for Elder Gods, Investigators and Heralds

The small case has:

  • Tray for current Elder God
  • Adjustable card box for mythos deck
  • Adjustable card box for other worlds deck
  • Stand for active rumour
  • Stand for active environment
  • Tower style monster tile dispenser
  • One bin for gates
  • Two bins for counters
  • Four bins for small card decks
  • Back drawer with adjustable compartments for large decks, small decks and investigator markers

This is the front view. The movie in the top link shows it from all sides. Now that the design is done, I can move on to construction. And yes, this is all designed to scale.

I like the idea of more heralds and characters, but how about some sugar to make it interesting.

* pre-painted figures for characters to replace the chit stands?
* figs for the monsters?
* A character pack with 16 characters (12 new ones and 4 fixed ones) + some small variant rule / rule fix cards?
* A rulebook for playing the game using just the expansion boards and not the main board? (maybe a mini-board that has a terror track and the outer planes, sky and outskirts but no locations or streets that the other boards hook to?)
* A stack of collapsed deck-boxes?

Not sure what would spice it up enough to buy things I already own (with proper text notwithstanding).

I think this alone would cause the expansion to sell huge amounts. But pre-painted? Fergeddaboudit. Marvely Heroes came with some, but only 24. We are talking 96 here...
