Did Anyone Notice?

Did anyone notice that the Hand of the King chapter pack can be ordered from the FFG online store? Must be released somewhere.

Also, didn't anyone else see the "Jaime Lannister" art sleeves in the online store with their new supply line? Maybe if those are successful, FFG will print other art, or House specific emblem, sleeves, too!

Ktom, do mean Tower of the Hand? I picked mine up yesterday from my local store.

i saw the annoucement for the card sleeves, not sure if i remember seeing a picture. I'd use them, depending on the cost (i'm the guy that buys his sleeves from the discount bin).

They go for $4.99 for a 50 pack: a little on the expensive side of things. Check it out here .

I wish they had not put in the borders...gah, borders.

Those are really cool. But there is no way I'm playing a Stark deck sleeved in Jamie Lannister. I hope they come out with other options soon.

Like KTom mentioned, house specific emblem sleeves (without borders) in house specific colors (lanni in gold, targ in red, etc) would be way cool of course.

Those are awesome. And they picked the coolest Jaime around, too. How I miss Valyrian Edition's art...

~At least they weren't white borders.

Hey, why they have changed new cards to whiteborder anyway? I would understand if it weren't for "A clash of arms".

As a new player black border/white border issue does not bother me as long as they are unsullied...err, unified. I would much prefer a no border (or semi border) approach that Warhammer LCG is taking, however.

Brief faux history lesson: I may be confusing the issue here with Call of Cthulhu, but there was a huge uproar when it first seemed that black border was staying in the LCG switch, but was swapped out for white much to the chagrin of longtime players.

It was indeed far more pronounced on the CoC side than here on the AGoT side. Considering the relatively darker tone of the subject matter (and art in general), it is easy to see where white borders could end up being more aesthetically unpleasant for CoC and why the emotions ran higher in that community than in this.

The primary reason for the switch, as reported by FFG, is that they wanted an easily identifiable, visual way to distinguish between cards from the CCG and LCG eras of the games. In that regard, border color was a particularly easy way to go. The difficulty for AGoT, though, is that the "Clash of Arms" cycle of Chapter Packs bridges the two eras - and the decision to go with white borders as the distinguishing characteristic was made after the CP cycle was printed. So the difficulty is that the CoA packs could always be considered a hybrid of CCG and LCG. Essentially, the need for consistency wasn't anticipated in time and the need for differentiation was deemed more important.
