Meat Eater + Any attack with multiple

By saikyo_crusher, in UFS Rules Q & A

Okay, so according to the updated rules on multiples when you play the multiple keyword ability you discard a momentum for each copy of multiple you are playing and then use that discarded momentum as a marker for the multiple copy of that attack in your card pool.

The second ability of Meat Eater states that you may commit it when paying a momentum cost to count as having already paid one of that cost.

Soooo...if you "can" and do use Meat Eater's second ability on an attack with multiple, where does the copy of the attack come from? Do you have a "phantom" copy of the attack in your card pool?

I had the same question as well. I would play the copy from the top of my deck but not sure if that's how it works, it just seemed most logical.

This has already been answered on this forum. You cannot pay for multiple using Meat Eater as you have to place the card that you discarded to pay the multiple cost into your card pool. As you do not discard a card when using Meat Eater there is no card to add to the pool.

I sort of disagree. You can "pay" for a multiple using meateater instead of pitching a momentum. Then when you go to "resolve" the momentum (putting the discarded momentum face down in your card pool) the game says "o there is nothing to reference, fizzle"

Not sure if there is any situations where it matter...but i could see some card interactions maybe mattering (for example something where it is looking at how much momentum you have paid for multiples this turn)

Situation where it might matter: Your next enhance is going to be canceled... you could do Multiple: 1, discarding 0 momentum thanks to ME and use up the floating cancel.

You can just discard 0 momentum for Multiple/Powerful anyway, no need for Meat Eater.
