I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I have been unable to find it. The search function on this site is kind of spotty. If i activate Fight for information and chose an attack that is split, may I use the split side? I don't think so but I just had to ask.
On a side note I was wondering if the patches were useless now?

No, because you have to play an attack.
The patches are now spiffy window dressing. I have my set sitting in my promo binder.
