I was wondering if there was anyone who had a bit of spare time that might be able to help with a little addition to the Strange Eons tool for making Talisman cards?

At present the only "base" that is available is a cobbled area, and though this is one that is used officially, it does not really help with characters that start in spaces other than urban ones. I have attempted making a couple this past few days, but am not happy with the results, so wondered if any "arty types" might be able to rustle something up!

What I would like to add is a grassy/meadow version, a muddy path and perhaps some rocky terrain. I have posted a PNG of the image that is used in the extension, so anything would have to be the same size with similar shading/opacity. Some "shadowing" would be good too!

Of course any images used in the tool would be credited in the contents pane of the window.

I'll see what I can come up with and perhaps just post them here. However, shadowing would probably be dependant on the posture of the figure, so a generic center shadowing would be better than what is in this image for all possible figures.

Yeah, the shadowing would need to be "generic", more of an allusion to lighting really.

Well, whilst trawling through my many folders of Talisman "projects" I happened across a series of backgrounds that Duane Haut sent me for use with a little "alternate Talisman" idea that he had going.

These are a little "8 bit computer gamey" but don't look bad. They were intended for Adventure card images, but I wondered what people thought of them being used as character backgrounds. Does this look okay?

I know it needs a bit of shadow, but I'm just wondering if it is too.... cartoony? I can actually make them a little less severe by using a couple of filters.

There are 20 backgrounds, of which about half would be suitable for using...

yes, too cartoony... and the full background just doesn't work mixed with other character cards.

Well, thanks to JC (once again!) I have now added a range of bases (19!!!) for use with the character creator.

These range from grass to rock to paths so you should have plenty of scope dependent on character type and starting space.

I'll upload the updated extension tomorrow...

JC suggested I should upload a finished card with a new base layer. So here is the Doom Wraith... It's at 300dpi, but resized to 600px wide for display. Right Click and Save Picture As ...

Nothing too special, but he should be able to make a nuisance of himself!
