Prova-Dei-Cervo

By Hayamachop, in UFS Rules Q & A

Interesting, From my topic in General Discussions, (Whats your Favorite Combo), Tag pointed out that if Prova-Dei-Cervo hits, the E will not apply to the multiples of following attacks? Is this correct?

What, you think I said that just to mess with your head?

Rules arbiter and all xD

But yeah, it comes down to the word "play". Multiples aren't "played" - they're copied from the original card, but not played from any zone or anything, no control checking, etc. Typically the term "played" is used to refer to cards that successfully go from your hand to your card pool, but there are exceptions - however, for all of them that come to mind (Material Advantage, Forgotten Memories, etc), they all say "play that card".

Seriously I think you are being too snarky on the forums.

There's a reason my name isn't on this forum's description anymore. A large portion of it, though, is a massive degree of apathy.

but, seriously, did you really assume I pointed that out about PDC just to be a nuisance or something? This thread seems so extraneous and like you're taking a jab at me by (vocally) not believing me, hence the reaction. You even pointed out I mentioned it in the OP. It's like you said "Tag said this, is it true?" and didn't expect me to come in here and earn a stamp within about 30 seconds...

Sadly that is correct. Tag is no longer an official rules Arbiter.

Multiple according to the AGR are

2.14.2.4.1 The Multiple keyword is a played ability

Then how come it is not "played" and doesnt fit in with PDC enhance? Or maybe we can change the AGR to say it is an enhance?

But Multiple IS an Enhance. You play the Enhance : Multiple ability, not the copies 'O_o

2.14.2.4 Multiple
Multiple: X ( Enhance ) - E Discard up to X momentum: Place the momentum
discarded to pay for this ability face down into your card pool to the right of
the Multiple attack. Each of the cards placed into your card pool counts as a
copy of the Multiple attack with a blank text box and speed and damage values
equal to the printed values of the original attack. No control check is required
to play these cards, and each copy has its own Enhance Phase, Block Step, and
Damage Step. Players must go from left to right, resolving each attack in turn.
If a multiple copy would go to a player’s momentum for any reason, it is
discarded instead. If you attempt to create a “multiple copy” of a “multiple
copy,” the “copy of the copy” is discarded.

The definition that Multiple is a played ability is to define that it's a played ability that can be negated, responded to, etc. As opposed to something like desperation, that just happens, and cannot be negated persay
