OK so this is just what i have made for my starting session to initiate the players and bring them together, just trying to make something they could believably achieve with their limited skills/ equipment. The rewards are small but better contacts lead to better rewards etc.
Some characters are just labeled 'CHISS' because the players havent decided their names yet.
FIRST SESSION
CHISS has come to Ordon after a previous ordeal and comes to TWILEK to find where Delts has been residing.
The characters go around different parts of the network to ask where he has gone.
This can include the fungus farm run by the twileks, the mining quarters, the mini cantina, the Indoor bits and bolts store, or the hangar bay.
Apparently Delts has been asked to help repair some of the systems at the mining corporation according to one of the vehicles.
The characters must all wear suits/breath masks to go into the near vacuum of Ordon.
It takes them some time to traverse complicated terrain to get to the Mining area, as it isnt generally made known to the common inhabitants of the network.
- They may end up going to a wrong mine site, where they will be met by a bunch of degenerate like people at a battered long armoured vehicle which appears to be not working. They have only improvised weapons but are more looking for something material than a fight but will try to fight if the PCs try to leave with the desperates empty handed. They do know where the new mine site is and will tell the PCs where it is in exchange for almost anything they have, the PCs can promise something for the future if they can convince them. They are weak when it comes to most social checks.
Upon discovering the true mine site where Delts is currently, depending on the time it took or the direction they come from they may find the mine site under attack. From what they can see is there are a few small walkers with beam drills, and 2 large vehicles similar to that of the desperates but in much better shape.
The attackers seem to be some kind of bandits though maybe a bit better organized, from what they can tell is seems there are some people bunkered in the large vehicles trying to fight while taking cover.
The sounds are echoing from the shapes of the landscape, and they can faintly hear taunts being exchanged between the 2 parties.
They may notice a couple bandits are trying to sneak and get closer to the armoured transports.
The PCs must rush to help, they can try to get into the large vehicle to meet up with Delts and try get them to safety or just be inside for cover, or can try taking on the bandits to distract them.
If they go inside they can receive some slugthrower pistols which they can keep as a reward.
When they come in range,
ROBOT
has an internal comlink tuned into the same frequency as Delts and so the PCs can communicate with him.
There are 7 bandits in total, and if 2 are killed or 3 critically injured they will flee in their very lightly armed freighter. They may leave one of their own behind, if this happens the mining corporation will demand they deal with him themselves. The PCs will have a chance to question him if they want however.
All of this puts the PCs in good standing with the mining corporation, and makes them think the PCs as a group are capable of combat orientated work.
And the Deal they struck with delts was to help upgrade their ageing vehicles in exchange he can have access to their personal scrapyard, kept off bounds to the Jawas and civilians of the Ordon. The scrapyard does have a few ship shells, but all have been scrapped of some quite vital parts. There are other scrapyards on Ordon run by jawas which may have some useful parts but always for a price, and still not guaranteed to work.
FEEDBACK
So yeah i appreciate any feedback or advice.
I still need to think of how to make the travelling terrain interesting, need to make some stats for the Miners, Bandits, and 'desperates' (and maybe a better name than desperates).
I might make the atmosphere just very thin and barely breathable instead of vacuum so its dangerous but not instantly deadly.
And i was hoping to think of something to establish that Delts is an outlaw tech when they are at a distance in the combat
