Looks like several of you guys were right. On Star Wars Celebration Day (on April 17th) FFG is going to make some announcements about what's coming next.

Star Wars™ Celebration is a little more than two weeks away. We'll have a team there demoing games, and this year we're also giving a panel! Join us at 1:30pm on April 17 on the Fan Stage to learn how some of your favorite games are made– and what's coming up next.
15 days of anticipation. 15 days and then they want more information. 15 days and it all goes down. 15 days before they go outta town.
What's coming up next? Wave 2 for Armada. Nothing for X-Wing for the next 6+ months (face it, except for a few S&V ships their is not a lot of standard material left for Rebels and Empire). About the only serious Rebel fix is a Y-Wing with EPT and the mysterious "X-Wing Boost" that was remarked upon previously. Perhaps a Rebel Aces II box with an X and Y. Leading to an S&V Aces pack (perhaps adding 2 different S&V ships), then an Imperial Aces II box with the TIE Adv (including X1 cards) and maybe some love for the Defender who seams to have fallen out of favor.

There is plenty of material and FFG have no qualms in using Expanded Universe ships to enrich the game. It's also a bussiness, and X-wing sells like hot pancakes, so yes, there will be expansions. Wave 7 is done, as stated by the devs, wave 8 in the works. So there is a huge chance we'll get a preview of wave 7 on April 17th.

Well to be honest, at least for now it seems Armada has eclipsed my love of X-Wing. I care more about Armada wave 1 hitting than I do X-Wing news.

I was thinking this might happen. My movie news shows have talked about what we can prolly expect for Episode 7 previews in the near future.
With FFG setting up to do ships from the new film, it makes good sense to me.
This is going to be a good year for STAR WARS, I think.

Edit: I have to confess, I just ordered all the Imperial Assault stuff (except Weiss). I was on the fence, but your unboxing and skirmish videos finally sold me on it. Thanks Obama... er, Crabbok, my wallet hates you. 
So now I have to wait for X-wing info at the same time we are likely getting a new Episode VII trailer and info? I don't think I can handle it...
