Expendable Muscle question

By BrooklynMike, in CoC Rules Discussion

What happens in the following situation:

Two Expendable Muscle characters are committed to a story, one gets wounded and becomes an attachment to the other.

Now, the second Expendable Muscle (with the Expendable Muscle attachement) is committed to a story with another character and is wounded.

Does +1 Toughness over-ride the text? If not, and the second character becomes an attachment, what happens to the already attached first character?

Say that character with the attached character goes insane ... does he attach to another character with the previously attached Expendable Muscle?

If he would be wounded or go insane, instead attach him to a character you control. He becomes an attachment support card and gives the character that he's attached to toughness +1 and willpower.

Can't rememberif it's strictly its text or not, but let's say it is !

If you read it's text, there's no reference to actions, nor forced response nor response. So you MUST trigger the effect, despite it gains Toughness by a way or another. But the fact that he would gains willpower should prevent him from being driven insane.

So, in case you change your first expendable muscle into an attachment, he can then be attached to a character and thus fulfill its requirement. But, in case you transform the second expendable muscle which is "wearing" the first exepndable muscle 's attachment, you'll need to follow this, as a consequence of your character being wounded.

1. The character "Expendable muscle N°2 becomes an attachment. Its attached to another character.

2. The requirement for the First "Expendable Muscle to be attached to a character are no more fulfilled. It joins the discard pile.
