Hello all. I'm just starting to get into this and was wondering if Nightmare is a viable character to start with? If not then who would be a couple of good characters to start with? Thanks in advance =)

Nightmare is a vaible character. All three symbols are top quality, though play style is different. Fire can play agressive hybrid, death can play pure control and evil can play in between. Heck, you can even go tri symbol if you want. Buying two of his starters will get you close to 80-90% of his specific support cards in terms of foundations, however you only need play sets of a certain few. From there you have to branch out and make your own choices branching out to different sets. You choices will depend on your local meta or if taking up, the state of global meta posted on the forums.

Just one note though, you will have problems against certain deck types revolving around a certain symbol. Good symbol decks can and most likely will give you a hard time, though they do give a hard time to most other decks as well. You can play around these decks, but sometimes it can be painful as you may need to over extend and play to thier tempo. In this meta, you may have it a bit rough at the beginning but after playing them a few times and making the nessessary changes you'll be able to spot loop holes and openings that you can exploit. I my self am currently and slowly building a Nightmare deck. So far it is working out well!

If your looking at other starter's, well I am not sure what to say. Really, it depends on what you want to play... If you want to play kinda agro deck that can crush you opponents tempo with a bit of control here and their then you'll love Nightmare.

Navi brings up a good point, Nightmare is good for a little bit of hybrid agro, but if you're wanting a good new players deck i have some articles over on teamcanadaonline.net that will help you from a new players perspective and i make the decks on a budget *less than $20 if possible* what i'd recommend is first telling us what style of play you want, uuber agro, hybrid agro, hybrid contro, pure control; then we can work from there, also a good link for looking up cards is as follows: www.twoheadeddragon.com/ufs/index.html that will give you a feel as to what cards are in the game and should help you build a deck. the current play styl calls for aggresion, so build your deck towards aggro but also have a few surprises waiting in the wings to catch your opponent of guard. The best aggro character in the current sets i feel is Raphael. this is not just because i play the guy, but also since the recent banned list came in, he has gained a lot more power. i posted my deck on here take a look at it, feel free to copy it and make a few alterations as you see fit and see what happens. good luck
