I don't know about you, but the space battles in the Star Trek, Star Wars and other films didn't quite strike me as the low points of the movies...

The ship to ship space rules are still there, it was land, sea and air removed. So space is there.

You could also just get a copy of Battlefleet Gothic is you needed to simulate some space battles.
