I have always been a sucker for the viking age and i LOVE space wolves. I got just started to play & GM dark heresy and I thought "why not make up the feral warrior path of a "space wolf"?
I intend it to be balanced and no it will not be a "space marine ûber insane path". It will be a path that will be a beginning path for "any" career. So fare I am making the history and personality of the fenris warrior. Here is a sneak peak on some of the stuff iem brewing on.
I am making ALOT of this stuff up and some of it are based from the space wold Chapter from game workeshop and from Danish Viking mytologi.
...10.000 Years have the proud race of Fenris have served the emperor with strong warriors to the Space Wolf Chapter. The men & women of Fenris are all warriors with no exception. They are trained as young and are expected to be battle ready at the age of 15, boys & girls alike....
...At the 15'th birthday the candidate will be faced with so rigorous and often fatal challenges. They are testes both mental & physical, if they fail they will be doomed to the social state of thrall and will be a servant for the rest of their lives (This is rare sins those that don't pass the challenge often die).
If the challenges are passed the male candidates will be put on a line painted in there tribal colors. Then the women of a neighbor tribe that have also passed the challenge will get to chose a man to be there husband. This tradition is to ensure the blood between the tribes remain strong and tied. This is also why Fenris tribes live in a harmony like state with no wars between them. The two will now continue their training together side by side until there 18'th birthday where they will marry (this time the Woman & man are free to say yes to no, saying no is generally a dishonor and will often lead to family fights that is solved in an arena fight to one yield or die). The reason for this is that in Fenris they believe you can only see a person's true side when you are fighting them or by their side....
...The legends of the company known as the 13'th company dwells within every Fenris warrior. The Space Wolf Company that was trapped within the eye of chaos for millennia but never fell to the temptation of chaos and instead fought the chaos filth in their own home. Fierce and twisted by mutation some of the warriors where said to be almost wolves in appearance. Yet the honor they proved and their faith in the Emperor was enough to give the status of eternal saints in the Fenris society. Children are told stories around the fireplace about the mighty heroes of the 13'th company & in the dreams of every young Fenris warrior, they see themselves as one of the few that believed and fought for what he loved...
Note that this is worke in progress and i intend to make a total cover of the fenris world. If anyone have somthing they may think would be cool to add feel free to post it.
