I'm kind of in a rush so if you can just help with this question. I play Dark Bite and use the enhance, my friend takes the damage but then he wants to respond with Lu Chen which commits a foundation and having to discard a momentum. So basically does the E take place first and he has to get rid of all his momentum or does the R take place and he can use the one momentum that he can use and then the rest are discarded? Hope this is clear, if not I can explain more.
E or R first?
Not 100% sure here, but almost for sure. Dark Bite's enhance creates a floating effect that resolves after dealing damage and floating effects resolve before responses, so, your opponent discards all of his momentum before he has a change to respond.
Well, for Lu Chen's R to work, he must block the attack. So, remember there is a block step which comes before the damage step. So, he blocks and he R's with Lu Chen then he will discard all his momentum.
so which one is it?
The e creates an effect/continuous ability that must resolve before any responses can be played to the same trigger.
However Lu Chen's Ability resolves after the block is played, before damage is dealt.
Lu Chen's trigger is "completely block" which happens during 8.3.2 the block step. (8.3.2.6 to be exact)
Dark Bite's effect is resolved during the Damage Step 8.3.3 (at 8.3.3.11 specifically)
