I am under the impression that this is a standalone (simplified?) game but PA will still be "reprinted for UFS".

Maybe just as a promo set, all iknow is igot a 5 point "Penny Arcade" from PoTM and so do about 60 others....

This is a standalone game. It's totally different rules, doesn't really seem like just a simplified version of UFS. PA will not be reprinted, we are getting this instead.

I thought the PA they gave out at PoTM were just original ones not reprinted versions?

Correct, I even had a short little discussion with FFGJeremy over how some where the missprints with offset numbers and how they were collector's items. Steve announced (at the time) that they were planning to reprint the PA promo withe a 5pt star, and when they did the old ones would become legal again. When I talked to Steve about it at Nats he wasn't so sure it would still be reprinted...

PA has its own gaming convention (PAX). They also have a huge fanbase, popular licence, and thier own ability to move merch. I see no reason they shouldnt want thier own game. Granted it's not a boon to UFS at all to not have them as far as I care, but buisness is buisness.

The PA guys are also the founders of Child's Play.. The one charity I care about and donate to. When I go to the Air Force all my UFS, Yu-Gi-Oh and Naruto cards along with a shitload of games will be going to them..

So... you see the positivity displayed in this thread, when people are notified that PA is no longer being released as a UFS Boxed set?

What in this thread would encourage FFG to communicate something different in terms of a special message?

Remember all the people who said "They'd quit" if PA was re-released as a UFS expansion?

Remember all the people who said "If they reprint Dirty Pool, I quit!"

Yesterday people are upset because FFG is releasing UFS themed sleeves.

Now people are posting that the game is dying because they're releasing Penny Arcade as its own game.

Can you guys make up your minds as to what you want?

What we want? straight and reliable info. Not just "steeve said" or "i talked to X person during the sunshine of a the week of four thursday" We got a hint about PA reprint in UFS and then it pop on the website as a new game.

about the sleeves, its just getting lame. i mean the art. its on the top of the forum. it was on the old ones. its on a STG deckbox... newcomers will see it as "universal zi-mei system" . i can't believe shadowar have 1 single character. where are the others?

Especially since : a) FFG're not exactly as available as you think they are and b) Said info is not always tossed back around. Besides, it's not like I can actually contribute to information because let's face it when was the last time a FFG employee gave a crap about their Canadian customers without having to be prodded savagely by e-mails?

RE: "Universal Zi-Mei" system.

Last year when Promo Zi-Mei came out, I was teaching the game to someone who was intrested in it. He was a big fan of Martial Arts movies, and had just recently seen the Jet-Li/Jackie Chan Movie (I can't remember its name, sorry), and was excited because Zi-Mei looked like a character from the movie, and he wanted to play her. It was his first UFS Character, and his first UFS deck.

That's just one example, but while you're tired of the Zi-Mei art - it's a fantastic piece of work. It's beautiful, attractive, and it's not trashy. It's not a boob shot, it's not a crotch shot, it's something that you can tastefully market, unlike far too much of the UFS art.

While some may be tired of it, others arn't. Ultimately you have two choices - 1 Write FFG and tell them of your displeasure of using the art. 2 vote with your wallet. Either buy the sleeves, or don't.

RE: Direct communication - You get the state of the games. What more communication would you like? What game provides the communication that you feel you are entitled to?

They posted on their website with graphics significant details about the game. It has it's own subsection and everything. Are you wanting a personalized email saying "Hey Ren, we're releasing a new game!" If so you may want to inquire about joining the retailers email list.

RE: FFG caring about Canadian Customers - over the last two weeks we were contacted regarding our Regionals kit for this weekend, as well as the fight night kit my shop ordered it. It was really nice. They handled all the communication, all we did was have to follow the directions to sign up for the Regionals. We've received our prize support on time at the beginning of each month since they've transitioned away from Lion Rampart. They even sent us league kits.

So personally, I've had no complaints or issues.

I hate Zi-Mei as much as the next guy! (Stupid sexist game)... But I will still buy the sleeves and happily. Becuase yeah, it is UFS, she is cool in a lot of ways, and hey - from a business/guy perspective, why wouldn't I want these sleeves???

On topic... People who badger FFG employees when they travel get more information, granted this information would otherwise never be released. Everyone is complaining about what they 'get' out of travelling (I hate these posts btw) but the truth is you get far more than the material advantage, you get information , experience, and enjoyment!!! Such is life, you pay to play.

We're still having problems over here. Again, it's the "without having to bombard their friggin' e-mails." because I'm pretty sure they do not enjoy that and we don't enjoy having to do that.

Because you don't want them? Because they come in a pack of 50, forcing you to buy two packs in order to have a full deck sleeved in those?

Seriously, Zi Mei is one of the most boring characters I've seen in ShadoWar, much less UFS. Not only that, but yes, I AM tired of seeing that art plastered everywhere. Were it ANY other art of Zi Mei my complaints would be far less vocal, more akin to a disgruntled mumble than outright shouting.

All sleeves I've seen come either 50 or 100 per pack.

And lately... with decks starting to stretch between 62-72 cards on a regular basis + sideboards + eventual rips/damage - buying two packs of 50 seems alright by me.

*looks at his past two decks being more then 90 cards mainboard each*

I feel like I'm overcompensating for something here...

Off topic, but could we get some Promo zhao or pack rashotep sleeves? Always thought the artwork on those cards was amazing.

dude, if you were Chinese... the witch with white hair is famous, so much so most chinese can recognize her in whatever form (Played by Brigitte Lin Ching Hsia in a movie of the same name and appearing in all kinds of drama series, the latest being Forbidden kingdom with Jackie chan and Jet Lee). this bad babe appears all over the place, and its hilarious in UFS, especially the witch with white hair did have some skewed love story with the male main lead.

But then Shadowar is indeed adding a lot of stereotypical funny characters

Raging berserker Viking

ancient Chinese kungfu master

The Mummy

Beautiful Valkyrie (Totally expect someone like this in valhalla)

Fox spirit (chinese and Japan methodology, won't be surprised with an asset called "...and 9 tails")

an evil witch with the face of a jawa (Maybe thats what they look like under their robes)

Dischingis Khan ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_esCf2GSTI )

assasin that turns good

The next set will have

the monkey god

Chuck Norris lookalike

American gunslinger Billy

american red Indian with a bow and full feather headdress (the foe of the guy above)

the wandering Jew (wih the old testament in one hand and Christ beneath his feet)

orochi, the serpant with 8 heads (THAT would be cool)

..

..

the rest of the characters are all covered one way or another (Ninja, samurai, cat girl, pirate ho, military guy/ gal, nudist, knight, schoolgirl, beastman, gothic lolita chicks and transformers. a cookie for those that can name an example of each)

that being said, any chinee with a rudimentary grasp of his culture will feel amused by Zimei. I will be getting those sleeves if it ain't too expensive

Ninja,

Too many to count. Um... Mai

samurai,

Lots. How bout Haohmaru.

cat girl,

Felicia, lol

pirate ho,

Ivy

military guy/ gal,

Guile/Fio

nudist,

RIKUO LOL

knight,

Siegfried

schoolgirl,

Sakura

beastman,

Blanka

gothic lolita chicks

Karin

and transformers

Twelve

I WANT THAT COOKIE

I'd have said Ninon :P

Personally, I quite like Zi Mei, and even though I'm a bit tired of seeing her face everywhere I wouldn't mind buying her sleeves, even if just to use them with my Zi Mei deck :P The only thing bothering me is the 50 sleeves packs which seems a bit low, but if there are 100 sleeves packs like most do I'll be perfectly happy :)

btw Maxima = transformer, all the way

Tag gets the cookie.

...

Now find the camel toe.

I'm just gonna roll the dice and say it's one of Mai's cards
