hey there

tryin to build a deck around the new astaroth now i drop out for a bit here and don't now to many of the new and good cards thats what workin does to ya all the time hey. so back to astaroth hes got earth/evil/fire i'm thinking on runing him on all three or close to all three lol any thoughs let me now thanks canada1

Well, Tagrineth designed a pretty rockin' Astaroth* aggro deck off Fire, and he did pretty well with it. Here's the link, so you can take a look at it: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp?efid=27&efcid=5&efidt=123968

As far as my take on Astaroth* , I think he's great, since he's an aggro brute who gets even more dangerous as the game goes on thanks to his Enhance (which forces you to go for dual-symbol attacks if you want to run him off Evil, but I think he's more at home in Earth/Fire anyway). Additionally, his second ability allows him to will his way past BRT and all those other annoying things while feeding his E, because you're missing another foundation. I would go for something pretty similar to Tag's deck, though I may add a little more muscle in the form of cards like Hungry for Battle and Enraged Golem . Also, you really can't go wrong with Origins Unknown , since damage pump is all Earth and Fire. Lastly, I would consider Amy's Assistance to help the big fella get around pesky assets and/or reduce some damage coming his way.

If you really want to abuse Astaroth, I reccommend using alot of Nightmare's support(Mainly: All Life is Prey and Intimidating Presence.) Using that support, it will give big damage for Astaroth's enhance.

Guess unstoppable warrior could work for Astaroth aswell,

I am currently running an Earth Astaroth that is quite beastly. Cutting Edge works wonders with him. It is a nice defensive card that fuels his E. (I had a person Reverse me, I used Cutting Edge to destroy my staging area and kill him with the next attack...). Regretful Existance is also a nice card with him. Plus, you get all of the nice throws from ShadoWar for your attack base (I only use throws in the deck)! The rest of the deck is Earth tank/stall while throwing the opponent around. Earth has a lot of tools for the long game, and it works really well with this Astaroth.
