Ok at my 1st GenCon the Prize Support was awesome and even loosers(like me) went home very happy. I saw Wii's givin out etc.. Then last year the support was utter trash.. Now after looking at the prize support for another CCG staring an little known ninja in orange, I'm thinkin WTF FFG throw us a effin bone for spending so much cash to come play UFS!!! Where's stuff like alternate art SR's or a few packs 2 make us smile?? Take a look at this...

Sannin Tournament Prizing:
1st Place - Laptop Computer, Xbox 360 Elite, Apple IPOD, Sony PSP, booster box and other prizing
2nd Place - Xbox 360 Elite, Apple IPOD, Sony PSP, Nintendo DS, booster box and other prizing
3rd-4th Place - Xbox 360 Elite, booster box and other prizing
5th-8th Place - Apple IPOD, booster box and other prizing
9th-16th Place - 12 packs
17th-32nd Place - 6 packs
33rd-64th Place - 3 packs
Additional prizing will be based on attendance.

Well holy ship! And those are the prizes for just swiss!! I kno UFS is a smaller CCG but **** FFG gotta be capable of something extra?

And how much does it cost to play in the Sannin tournament?

Bandai is a HUGE company. While they are still effected by the economy just as much as the next guy, they've been around for awhile and I doubt one bump in the road is going to make them lose their games,tv shows, ccgs, etc.

Right now, BECAUSE of the economy, I find myself feeling much more secure about the future of Naruto, than I do of UFS.

A character card or team asset is infinitley cooler than crap you can buy on the open market, and potentially much more valuable if you want to go that route.

I would love to see some awesome prizes for the game as well, and this really has been discussed to death, however...

I would gladly pony up 25-30$ entry fee if there were prizes that were close to the ones you listed for Naruto.
Really, I wouldn't expect a free tournament with those prizes, but if I were to enter a major event, I would expect to pay a premium for the opportunity, and the prizes to reflect that.

when I hear about legitamate fans of Naruto or its mediocre card game, all I can do is facepalm.

Not sure if you were around to see the whining, and wailing and gnashing of teeth over there being an exclusive promo for the event.

I seem to remember some players quitting the game over it.

There has been a very vocal group on the forums against exclusive promos for events.

Personally - I went to POTM. I loved the promos. I loved the exclusive promos I got for Raw Deal from Gencon. But at the end of the day, a vocal minority has rallied against exclusive event promos.

::shrugs:: at the end of the day I feel sorry for FFG, because all that it seems is that players complain about everything.

well i personally love FFG and UFS so i dont care if they give me squat!!! just my love for the game makes me come to ufs....sure a few packs or a cool UR would be nice......but for me i just love the game!!!!

Some of us are just never fully satisfied, even when we are.

POTM is a slightly different situation. If POTM promos had been given out at Worlds it would've been a different issue, but the tournament was literally traveling JUST for that card, as opposed to getting an exclusive card at a tournament many people would go to anyway.

And yeah, just to reiterate, the Sannin winner gets to design a card on top of all that... and the Sannin-designed cards have "Designed by (NAME)" across the top border.

Funny side note, Drifting was the first Sannin-designed card and just like our first character, it's ridiculously powerful and is limited to 1.

Yeah... my Deidara deck took a hit when they limited LAR too... sigh, but Earths support in the next set looks amazing... YUM YUM.

I wish FFG had better support to be honest as well but what can we do . I thought going to a bigger company from STG-FFG the prize support woul continue to increase not decline but we will see what happens with sales in the future and then everything could change who knows. But bandai give the best tournament prizing over all of any game so it is hard to compete.
