Any Phase?

By mattkohls, in CoC General Discussion

In the new AP, there are several cards that have bold text saying "Any Phase" where it would normally say "Action."

Does anyone know what the deal is with any phase? Is it a misprint, or is it a new ability? Any explanation would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

I'd guess it's a new game mechanic. Just like it says, you can perform the action during any phase.

Game of Thrones has a bunch of Phases, and the Any Phase keyword. Could possilbly be another carryover from that (Like the Kneel mistake)

knowing what ffg does lately I say it's their (another) mistake.

No, it was totally planned, like the "named" mechanic or the fact that you can have 4x conspiracies in a deck even with the 3x rule partido_risa.gif .

ok, I got word from Nate today that the "Any Phase" cards were just misprinted and supposed to say "Action"

mmmmmmmmm, no. A picture being upside down is a misprint. The wrong faction color on a card is a misprint. The wrong wording on a card is a mistake from the design level on down. The wrong word being printed doesn't happen on press, it's done higher up.

You're taking the word too literally. I meant it to mean, it should have been printed as Action, not Any Phase to quell rumors that it's a new ability or someth, not that the printer had screwed it up. Obviously it's something that should have been caught before going to print. But that's another thing to worry about. For now, at least we know how we are supposed to use the new cards.

No, I followed it's definition. You don't take thing literally and use the correct meaning you end up with Phases and Traits where there were none before and shouldn't be any. It's no big deal on message boards, but sloppy work like that would never stand in the business world at a professional company.
