How many Friends can you have out?

By Zeede2, in Rules Discussions

The mat that comes with the starter deck only has spaces for five Friends or Magic/Friends. Is this a hard cap, or can you have more than five Friends out at a time?

Also, when it comes to playing Dark cards on your opponent's World Cards, can you play multiple Dark/Villains of the same name? I know that if you have multiple Donalds you can only have one in play at a time, but does this apply to the Dark/Villains? Unless the nameless Dark/Heartless swarm, they are sort of "unique".

For your friend area you can have as much friends as you want, unless there is a card that limits your friend area(like Monstro lv1 for example). There is no limit on the friend area so you can put as much as you want, 20-30-40 how many friends you can pull from your deck. It is the same with HP, there is no limit to how much HP you can have.

For Dark cards you can place Dark/Villains of the same name on the same world as long as that world's limit can hold them. This also applies to your friend's area. You can have as much heartless cards(same name but only a copy of 3 set of the same card, unless it says you can have more than 3) on field.

If you go into battle(not challenge) you can use as many friend cards as you want to defeat the heartless cards that are on your world card.(I just added this because when I started off I thought you can only use one friend at a time, like in the game it only allows one friend from that world to fight besides you along with goofy or donald XD)

Hope this helps lol

All of this is explained in the rulebook. Just for future reference.

Thanks, my friend and I just assumed that since there are five spaces there was a limit of five friends. I guess we should've read the rulebook more closely :)

One last question: The rulebook states that you can only have three cards of the same name and level in your deck, so how is it possible that one of the Heartless cards says you can go through your deck and pull up to 4 Sea Neons? I know the Broom friend says it's unlimited, but Sea Neons do not have this in their card text.

In the new, upcomin set, there will be a Sea Neon, which is pretty much the exact same as the original, but have the same ability as the Brooms with their 'unlimited amount in a deck' concept.

Certainly somethin to look forward to, aye?

Oooooh... :)
