@Bubblepopmei - Not living in Canada, does the shipping from a US site such as Miniature Market make the price exorbitant? If there is such a monopoly, then the only way to fight is by not purchasing from anyone linked to the system. Vote with your wallet if you can.
Fly Casual - Flew the Coop
I order from Miniature Market, and with shipping it ends up being about double. I don't care, since I get it right away, but the net effect is that's one less item for the Canadian distributor to see as demand. The Canadian distributor has no idea what the demand is because people just go around them. It's a lose-lose, really.
Be patient for a product that has been listed as available for a month? No.
Agreed. If you can't handle shipping books within a few days of their release then stop being in the book shipping business.

Ugh. That's horrible.
It may skew demand for the distributor, but it will make the companies scream to both FFG and at the distributor about the poor service. Somebody out there will say to hell with them and make a contact in the US and avoid the situation entirely. It would necessitate them leaving that distributor I would suspect, but it doesn't seem to be that big of a loss.
I bet it will sort itself out in due course. FFG has had their own distribution problems. At the end of the day, customers care about exactly two things
1. Lowest price.
2. Now.
I don't play a lot of collectible games, historically. This has been my first real foray into the genre and I've been an FFG customer a lot in this year and the last. I even promote their products on online.
If I cannot purchase the product I cannot promote the product.
As a customer, if I do not get the product I require I will buy a different product. That or just play video games or go clubbing again. Whatever works. I can't stop laughing at the idea that I should care at all that magic has product that needs distributing. What a joke.
Yes it sucks to get some products a little later, but we have universal health care. ![]()
Is Amazon Prime not an option somehow?
If the shipping is being doubled via Minature Market you must be getting it sent via UPS or FedEx, since USPS Priority Mail will send it for much less into Canada
I do prefer to support FLGS where possible. In this case, I have 2 shops expecting the book this week.
If they do not submit to my wishes by tomorrow, I'm going to place an order with a shop my brother found in the UK 30 bucks no shipping. That'll do nicely.
Amazon and Miniature Market, along with other US online options are costly for some reason.
I picked Fly Casual up from Kaiju Games in Mississauga yesterday!
My smugglers are thrilled - now they can re-tool their characters in anticipation of our next episode, April 18th!
Man, and I was at 401 games yesterday morning. No joy. ![]()
[edit: AND, now their website says they have it in stock. ARGH!!]
