Hello there,

i am a new player of Descent and loved the game from the first time i read the rules. I only have the first box and hope i can find a good party to finish it and go on to the next ones. So my question is this, what do you mean when you refer to "Vanilla".

well, to be sure: there are actually 2 ways in reading/referring to "Vanilla":

1) only the core-box is Vanilla and all expansions including RtL aren't, or:

2) The core-box and the expansions are Vanilla and RtL isn't since that one is "campaign play", and all others (normally) arent.

As far as i read most threads, it seems most of the time the 2nd option is used.

sorry for my English, i am from Greece. Thanks for replying, seems i am in a "Vanilla" state for now.

I only have the first box, JiTD, and managed to find 3 friends to play with. We only have little time but i hope we can finish it by spring 2010.

I am now painting all the models and also making some 3D obstacles.
