Hi Dam,
I know what the old Leprechaun does, from the expert book, but i want to see if FFG has change him or keep him the same as 2th.
I also want to see the art of the leprechaun in full colour..instead of only looking to his miniature..

Well, FFG hasn't really messed with the characters that much I don't think. Most of the characters are still pretty much the same chars they were back in the 2nd ed days. Some name changes, little tweaking in the stats, but abilities haven't changed that much IMO.
I have never play with the leprechaun, because 3th don't have one.
If i must put him somewhere in the list, then he will begin with the third choice option i think..
He has no battle abilities and no spell replenish ( only starting with spells..)
I think i must first see him how good he is on the board..
I have once roll 7 times a 6 in a row..
That would be great for the Leprechaun, but it's only effective if there are some interesting cards on the board.
I am also wondering how many fate he will have..
When we play we let players choose their Character instead of random dealing.....I always play dwarf so I'm not too sure about the other Characters.....but I haven't lost with him yet...

That's not fun..( at least for me)
You can better draw 3 characters and then choose one of them.
This keeps the luck factor intact, and you have a little more selection of characters.( if happens if you draw one that you don't like)

I know i hear this from some other people that play but it works in our group...if it ain't broke don't fix it right......

Then again, if one person wins every game... And the Dwarf is the best rusher.
But Ive only played like three(total) games with him....I just pick him cause I like dwarfs....We're starting a new game on Thursday with randoms so I'll see how it turns out...gotta finish up our first its touch and go at the moment between me(dwarf),troll and druid....
Well the dwarf continues his winning streak.......by the skin of his teeth....couldnt get past the crypt for bad dice rolling and kept getting counter spelled when casting Crown of Command spell...all in all a good game....came down to me and the druid but I got that last Command spell off and won.....

In my latest games, i have always draw the Troll...

Even the Reaper decided to kill him..
He was born as a Philopher...

The troll likes you Velhart
I like the Druid best. He's got very interesting abilities.
The first to change his aligment is very good since he has very high fate value which he can replenish at Graveyard. Gaining benefit from most of the cards (Angel, Evil Darkness, etc.) is crazy too.
He also has one of the best two spell-cycling abilities (hands down to the Warlock) allowing him to massacre anyone with his spells while he's in the Outer/Middle Region.
1) Leprechaun / Merchant
2) Dwarf / Wizard
I am adding the Alchemist to the list..
First choice:
Wizard, Dark Cultist, Philosopher, Gladiator, Swashbuckler, Prophetess, Excorcist, Martyress, Courtisan, Magician Apprentice, Black Witch, Shape Shifter
Second Choice:
Alchemist, Merchant, Knight, Gypsy, Leprechaun, Druid, Warlock, Thief, Ilusionistess, Djinn, Fortune Knight, Satan Servant
( Assassin(due for overpowered and boring character)
Third Choice:
Minstrel, Sorceress, Monk, Warrior, Troll, Priest, Sage, Ogre chieftain?, Necromancer?, Juggler

We always draw two characters and pick one. Just so you won't have to play a character you don't really feel like playing, but still add that randomness to it. We call it an SD (for those of you who have played DoTA
). And we keep them secret until we've all decided which one we're gonna pick - so not three people show their spellcyclers and the fourth one can make an easy choice between Ghoul and Gypsy...
The Ogre Chieftain is not my favourite, but it has won 3/4 games with the fourth being me as OC at the CoC, the last survivor (can't remember which char he was, but someone with psychic combat) was stuck at the temple until he rolled 4-6 for movement, and only had 3 hp. I only managed to roll 2 4-6's in twelve rolls, letting him come to me at the CoC and take my last remaining hp. That game sucked.
But I feel he's boring. And there ARE a few chars that we see more often than others, although you keep seeing someone new every game, but I'm starting to pick the ones we haven't played much. But no clear favourite that I feel like playing every game. Knight looks great on paper, but he's sucked every game he's been played. We blame it on some kind of curse, where you get bad luck with him, so everyone avoids him, the Priest and the Merchant. But counting out those three and the top guys (OC, Warlock, Dwarf, Sage and Troll are the ones we all like) all the characters get about the same playtime. (Actually, Monk's been played a lot, but that's because people have gotten someone they don't like as their second char a lot more than anyone liking him very much)

Urgh, the Sorceress keeps getting worse, 0-10 now, with 5 mid-game deaths
.
Priest, who replaced her, went just off the wall, his kills included a Giant and 2x Dragons. Kills in battle I might add, none of that Spell crap. Priest ended with Str 15!!! Sadly, against most other characters, this would've seen him march to the Crown and challenge the character there, but the Gladiator with Str 13 + weapon + Gauntlets of Might + 7 Followers (including 2 that also boosted him in battle), yeah, Str 15 wasn't anywhere near enough. And the Gladiator even lost his first batch of Followers (3x Mule and Unicorn) to the Dungeon Keeper. Even though the Gladiator is now 2-3, he has in each game been Crown-ready, twice getting stalled at Dice with Death. It's just SO easy to get him Followers that are normally useless (Guide, Riding Horse, Prince, Princess, etc.) and keep kicking ass in battle. And even if he happens to lose to a Creature, the Followers remain, they only go away if he loses to another character.
Gladiator and Swashbuckler are both starting to get old and fast.
Really? Sorceress has been one of our strongest chars, winning 2 out of the 4 games she's been in. While if someone like the thief comes and steal something from you, you can just beat him up and take it back, you don't have that option with her followerstealing ability. And she's one of the few original characters that have been boosted from all the extra cards from expansions, since she used to be able to steal followers, but not the 2 best ones (Unicorn and Maiden). Now there are a lot more interesting followers to steal.
I think she's a great character, and she'll only keep getting better the more expansions they make, I think.
Hi Thomas,
I draw 3 characters at random at the start of the game.
But there are always characters that i prefer above others.
That's what this topic is about
So ..feel free to make your own list

I was thinking about the Sorcerer these last days...
Her follower stealing ability can be very useful.
She can steal mules and followers such as the collosus, genie etc
i think i have underrate her...
I am adding the Vampiress to the list..
First choice:
Vampiress, Wizard, Dark Cultist, Philosopher, Gladiator, Swashbuckler, Prophetess, Excorcist, Martyress, Courtisan, Magician Apprentice, Black Witch, Shape Shifter

I think even your list shows how Vampiress one-ups the Sorceress (similar abilities, but Vampiress gets more use out of hers and can take any Follower).

I agree.
With the discarding followers to gain lives and the graveyard healing ability, makes her better than the sorceress.
Vampiress can also take any follower..
i am not so very fond about the Sorceress beguile ability, but with the psychic attack and the follower stealing ability, she should be in the second choice list i think..
But i want to try her out someday...
