Hey All,

I was wondering if there was anyone who still played people outside of their own area over the internet using IM or something else. I find myself at home and wanting to get in a game, but I don't have anyone to play with. Any thoughts on how to organize a place where people could come who are looking for a game late at night when they otherwise might not be able to find one in their area? This also could be used for those people that are pretty isolated.

I've played a bit of Yomi Beta on Lackey CCG.

I don't know how much work it would be to make a UFS plugin for Lackey (probably a lot), but it might be worth it. I suppose whoever did it could start by entering the data for the 5-point shuriken, and it would be miniblock until others could be entered.

I've played other CCGs over AIM and such a couple times in the past (e.g. eight years ago), but one time some dunce got mad at me because I played two "Bill" Trainers consecutively and whined that I was cheating, and that supposedly you could only play one Trainer card per turn, and even after I pointed out to him in the rule book that it almost explicitly said otherwise he kept going, so that sorta ruined it for me.

Though, it's fun playing Yugioh over AIM and just randomly going "Oh, sorry, GG. All five Exodia pieces."

They couple of times that I have played over IM I got my butt handed to me by players I didn't know. I really didn't mind all that much because it taught me about my deck and I figured if someone was going to cheat to win over an IM game, their life was a lot worse than mine was. I just smiled and shuffled up for another game. Any one that want's to play over IM send me a PM. I love playing this game, but the local players here only play at the tournaments. I want more fun games.

How does a webcam-less game work. With a webcam I can see it working but without a webcam couldn't people just cheat out the wazoo?

Sure you can do that, but what would be the purpose? Do you really need to win at a for fun game over IM to feel good about yourself or your deck? If you do, there is a lot more wrong with your life than cheating on a game over the internet.

Yes it is very, very easy to cheat, but why would you want to? Go punch babies if you want something a little bit harder.

I play the game to do just that. Play the game. If I wouldn't do it with the person sitting across from me at the same table, I won't do it over IM.

Then that might not be a terrible idea after all. It could be fun to play someone that I would never have other chances of playing. You can message me on AIM sometime "ElegantBamboo" maybe we can get something started.
