Painting, Gluing and Storage Solutions

By Son0fGun, in Star Wars: Armada

Wow. Having blackened bases and pegs and about to paint squadrons and touch up ships, I believe I have decided to keep my stuff intact for the most part.

Going to glue squad ships and pegs together. Thinking about gluing ships to pegs. Would keep the peg to base attachment open in case I want to change variants occasionally.

All in all, I think once a ship or squad is built, I am not going to disassemble regularly. Which creates storage and transport conundrums.

Thoughts from other perspectives?

Constructing the bases initially is a pain (those shield dial pins can be a mite tight) but once the base has undergone initial construction, rebuilding the setup for a game is murderously simple. I'm just keeping the ship, peg, base token, and assembled plastic base as four separate pieces. The pegs can all so into the same pile, as can the base tokens. Everything else gets a foam cutout.

I'm sadly not seeing Armada as conducive to foam. More display and take what you need.

Don't get me wrong. I have alot of X-Wing stuff foamed. But the breakdown concernes me a little more here. Squads are definitely staying one piece. Ships... I just don't want to wear these guys out too quick.
