Familar's How many actions when activated?

By eagletsi111, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

So I'm a necromancer and I spawn and Familiar as one action, then attack someone with another.

No on the Familiar's turn when you activate him he can take how many actions. 2 like a character?

Thanks,

The familiar of the necromancer has 1 move action and 1 attack action.

Not 2 actions like a hero but 2 actions like a monster.

Important distinction.

Some additional clarifications ...

Base Rules, Page 17:

Activating a familiar does not take an action from the hero to whom the familiar belongs:

A hero player may activate each familiar his hero controls once during his hero turn (either before or after resolving all of his hero’s actions). Activating a familiar does not require an action, but it may not interrupt any other action. Essentially, a hero player with a familiar must choose whether to activate his hero first or his familiar first. Regardless, both may be activated during his turn.

In general, a familiar only has 1 move action that it can perform:
When activated, a familiar may perform a move action following the same rules as heroes. Familiars treat any special terrain (other than obstacles) as water during their movement.
Some familiar's card text allow them additional actions:
The familiar may perform additional types of actions during its activation, as noted on its Familiar card. These additional actions, unless otherwise noted, may be performed in addition to the move action and may interrupt the move action in a way similar to hero move actions. If no such other actions are noted, then all the familiar can do on its turn is move up to its Speed value.
In the specific case of the Reanimate, it's card provides it the ability to attack once per activation.
I hope this helps.

To make it short: The familiar of the necromancer has exactly 1 move action and 1 attack action. In contrast to monster he mustn't spend his attack action to perform a second move action.

And a familiar can't spend fatigue to gain movement points.

Got it! So each familiar is different then.

Is spawning a familiar that is not on the table an action? or free action?

Unless otherwise noted on the familiar card, which would take precedence, it does not take an action to spawn a familiar. You just do it.

see above

Some familiars, like the stones require an action, some are free actions... it depends on the skill used.

But unsummoning your familliar does NOT use an action and can be done at any time during your turn.

Yes- but worth noting that most familiars do require an action- the Necromancer, Beastmaster, and Geomancer classes all must exhaust their base skills in order to summon familiars.
