A Decivader with Fel and his wingman

By Nephlim24, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Patrol Leader + Vader = 43

Fel+PTL+AT=32

Saber Squad+ Wingman+AT= 25

Something I just threw together thoughts? I love this Decimator, but I didn't want to spend too many points on it to open up for the additional Interceptor.

I don't think you'd want to spend much more on a DeciVader. Maybe Gunner or Moff Jerjerrod might be a good addition but I'd be hesitant to add more points to what is essentially a suicide ship.

If you go with the following you can push out a potential extra crits plus a re-roll on the Deci-Vadar.

RAC + Vadar = 49

Fel + PtL + AT = 32

Howlrunner + Calculation = 19

PL - Vader and Rebel Cap

Soony - PTL, AT, Targeting Computer (RGP)

Alpha - AT

Honestly, having a PS1 and 9 on the same team gives unmatched blocking capabilities.. A ps1 squint will allow you to position him to block in front of the deci quite effectively.. Now hard turn the deci after he gets done barreling thru the middle, the squint will block and you can hit actionless opponents. If you prefer not to block, start the deci in the middle with fel on the far right and the alpha on the far left, make your opp. commit, if he engages with your deci, he won't be going as far as his maneuvers must be green, swoop in with the squints and enage in some out-of-arc fire.. In my experience, when I have a choice to attack a 3 hull squint or a 16 HP auto stress attack, I'll always hit the squint unless the deci is waiting for me wide open.. use the deci as a decoy to pull opponents thru asteroids.. Therefore that leaves you open to take Fel down his throat as he commits, If he happens to inch toward fel, turn into the nearest asteroid and do Baron Soontir stuffs.....

a little jumbled but I think you get the jist

I agree, but I would also consider Tactical Jammer. It's only a point, and your Interceptors could use the Decimator as a mobile obstacle for their protection. I don't know if it's worth giving up anything you've already got, though. I do like the Soontir + Wingman combo, as both interceptors can use their full dials each turn, but I guess you could make an argument for dropping AT on the Saber and upgrading Wingman to PTL, which would give you a point for the Jammers.
