Who has some good Tie advanced x-1 lists

By bmwrider, in X-Wing

The other list I've been thinking about is my version of the Sum of All Fears:

Vader+Predator+Title+ATC

2x Sigma+IA+Enhanced Scopes+ACD

This is Vader's style... OFFENCE! IA and Enhanced Scopes helps ensure that your Sigmas don't get blocked. The ACD helps keep their options open every round (to uncloak). They, if played correctly, make amazing blockers now thanks to the rule change.

In regards to blocking, the recent rule change for decloaking is almost meaningless for Sigmas with Enhanced Scopes. There will be some minor timing differences but they've always decloaked and moved before anything else. The only thing that would change is how they interact with other Phantoms.

For Enhanced Scope Sigmas, being able to decloak when ionzied is the best part of the change.

This is what I want to run when x1 title comes :)

100 points

PILOTS

Tempest Squadron Pilot (21) x 2

Omicron Group Pilot (24)
Lambda-Class Shuttle (21), Darth Vader (3)

Soontir Fel (34)
TIE Interceptor (27), Royal Guard TIE (0), Push the Limit (3), Autothrusters (2), Targeting Computer (2)

I'm holding out 'till I see the new Advanced pilots, before I get my heart set on anything too specific.

This list was based mostly on fluff but has actually worked out O-K. I'm not saying it is optimized but is definitely playable and reasonably competitive:

Black Death Squad

Darth Vader + TIE/X-1 + Predator + Adv. Targeting. Computer

Mauler Mithel + Squad Leader

Backstabber

Black Squadron Pilot + Intimidation

Black Squadron Pilot + Calculation

That might be the fluffiest bunny of a list I've seen. I came up with something similar but had VI on the Black Squads. I figured that would help them fly in formation with Backstabber a little better.

I've already got my heart set on Juno Eclipse. Going to fly her even if her pilot ability is that the X1 fix doesn't apply to her.

I've been playing around with it on Vassal, and am getting the vibe that the Advanced really needs EU. It's dial isn't very forgiving when stressed, with slow 1-bank greens paired with rather zippy 2-3 straights. The lack of hard 1s is very noticeable.

....So, this is more about flying than lists, but:

Having taken Vader for a few spins on Vassal, I feel that I should share these important notes (which I guess are redundant for anyone who was already flying pre-fix TIE Advanced ships, but whatever):

- The 2 green froward is a trap. If you are in any sort of duel, do not set this number. Set anything else. If you don't feel you can outguess the other guy with the left or right 1 bank, just bug out with a 5 forward or - if you're feeling lucky - try a 4K re-engagement.

Just don't set it. It will smile gleefully as it puts your tie into an R1 arc.

- The 1 banks are magic. They will get you into spaces you did not think possible. Set these often (but don't become too predictable with them!)

- Do not take stress lightly. You do not have the dial to just shrug it off (no green hards, only green up to speed 3 going forward) Strongly consider other options before knowingly doing something that will give you a stress; you're not an interceptor and can't just dump it and shrug next turn.

Alright nightshrike, if you were making her what would she be? I'm thinking something like when she defends or attacks she can spend a focus to change a blank into a crit or an evade, if she has a target lock on that ship. It would pair well with the new sensor slot and I'd say she should be at least PS 8 if not 9.

She's gonna be an 8, I'm pretty sure (which I think is also about right for her, 9's are few and far between, and the Advanced already has a 9).

Yeah, that's why I said 8 first. 9 is not usually seen in this game, so 8 makes the most sense, but I think you could make an argument for 9 on her and not be treated as crazy.

I had a dream about what the card was last night. I'm going to blame this on me playing at FFG Center in Minnesota yesterday and driving 9 hours to get to and from there, and not on my own obsession. In the dream, she makes green K-turns. Not sure that's actually that useful for an advanced though. I like your idea a lot though. Anything that results in guaranteed damage helps me a TON. I'm starting to see why the mathematicians on this board exist. Laws of large numbers are hard to beat in aggregate (impossible?) and so anything that gives a guaranteed result has a huge impact over the long-term.

slap PTL on that and we'll see how not terribly useful green k-turns are

either way, the poor Defender pilots would ******* riot :P

Yeah, I didn't think that through. That would give the TIE advanced a dial with no red. Kind of sweet. The relative lack of green though would make you predictable if you wanted to use actions. Of course, if you put PtL and accuracy corrector on her, you'd basically never need to take actions to guarantee your hits, so you'd be able to make the decision about clearing stress or not. But anyway, probably not the actual pilot ability, I'm guessing. Dreams have a way of coming up with bizarre stuff.

At PS 8 and a hypothetical 4k green maneuver w/PTL, I think you could afford ATC on her :P

but agreed, the subconscious is a bizarre thing

I'm the girl who didn't get why Soontir Fel's ability worked well with PtL until I actually saw it played.

Actually, it has turned out to be more effective than I thought it would be... Friday night, I demolished a Wedge, Luke, Hobbie, Proto list with only the loss of 'Mauler' and 'Backstabber'. Vader one-shotted the Proto A-wing and set up two more kills. The final kill (Luke) was all on the BSPs.

That's one of the reasons why I hate the interwebs "meta". Lists work if they work for you. I played a list with a Lambda and Fleet Officer and a bunch of named and Academy Pilots and it did great! I beat out a competitive Super Dash list with it....just barely.

A wins a win be it 100-0 or 12 points difference, me I like close games I feel bad steam rolling over people.

I have too much American in me. I love to steamroll those that get in my way.

You can always say you have Victorian English in you. "Do you have a flag? No flag, no country. Those are the rules that I just made up." - Eddie Izzard

Not what my Vietnamese neighbour told me ;)

Oh they got steamrolled. We just got bored. America is the ADHD country. If it takes very long we lose interest.
