Over on BGG a nice German chap translated a list of optional rules that came with the German version of the game. He also mentioned a quest that came with the game where one of the characters is actually a secret agent of the Overlord. Sounds great I thought! He also mentions he might translate it if people are interested. This was years ago, so, is this available anywhere? Has any user or FFG themselves translated it? I'd love to get it.
"The Renegade" German Betrayal Quest
I´m from germany, so I´ve got the Quest with the "Special Agent". I don´t have the time to translate the quest yet, but in a few weeks (round about christmas) I´ve holiday, so I would translate it, if you (and maybe others) are still interessed in this quest. But as you may have mentioned: I´m not a native speaker, so you should not care about grammar or vocabulary mistakes... ;-)
That would be awesome! I dont care about grammer etc. I'm an English teacher in Japan, I deal with that every day :-)
So I will do the translation as soon as possible. :-)
You can download the (german) rules for the "special agent" and the scenario here:

Maybe you have some german-speaking friends.
Thanks for the link...awesome
This sounds killer, i'd love to get this too!!
Sounds like a strong base for new plots.... (wink hint wink cough)
Thanks! I was hoping someone would post the link or drop the file to BGG!
I can't speak German (unfortunately...I need to do something about that...Rosetta Stone?!) but I can at least check the layout and dream until translation comes!
Thanks in advance for the hardwork!
J!
This is rather interesting I wonder though, why hasnt there been a english version of this ever posted officially by FFG? Perhaps if we all speak up about it, we will get an official word from the company. Like many others, im always very interested to see optional rules

It has not been posted by FFG because it is NOT FFG-stuff. This scenario was made by "Heidelberger Spieleverlag" - that's the german company that releases FFG-stuff in Germany.
This quest is an offshot. It is an official german-descent-scenario because it was made by the official german-descent-company, but it is at the time not an official FFG-scenario. Maybe FFG will some day integrate it to their own stuff.
The reason why there is such an scenario is that the german version has some additional rules - specifically invented for the german market. The german distributor "Heidelberger Spieleverlag" thought that german players would like a more realistic style of playing (for example, just the hero who opens a chest gets the treasure. Unseen places and monsters in new areas don`t get discovered until they are in line of sight.) So there are two alternative rules in the german version: The original FFG-rules and the german offshot.
(But don't worry about that, I think most german players are playing the game the original FFG-way.)
Hopefully this can happen sometime soon
I'll happily help with grammar and punctuation etc.

has anyone translated it yet? it doesn't look like it ^^
if you still want the translation, I could do it for you =) but of course it would take me some days.
