Basic Skirmish Questions

By Spidey NZ, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

Hi there guys, i have played 2 skirmish games, i really like the feel of it after playing a couple of long campaigns, setting up a quick few battles with different units is a treat.

Some questions about building armies and command cards.

1. 40 points for armies and an additional 15 points for command cards (plus a max total of 15 command cards.)?

or is it

2. 40 points including army and command cards (eg. an army consisting of 30 points and using 10 points on command cards, using some '0' cost ones and maybe some '2' and '3' cost ones.)

on reading the rules, it says 15 points for command cards, i assume that is an additional cost.

*rules for At-St still apply to moving within a building? only outside spaces.

Answered my own questions.

have a great day

Correct, you have to build 40 points of units and an additional 15 points in Command Cards, using 0 point cards to fill it out to a deck of 15.

AT-STs can move on any spaces in Skirmish. The Interior/Exterior rule only applies to Campaign.

oh shivers, that at-st restriction cost me the game

Wow, Yeah I've been avoiding using the AT-ST in Skirmish because I thought the inside-outside rules applied. Good to know!

The only bit of the game that annoys me is the inside is OK for walkers to be honest. Plus they are hideous to play against in a skirmish :)

Hideous good or hideous bad? I always thought AT-STs were overpriced in Skirmish, but I've never used them either. They're too easy to get around and chase objectives through.

Actually, with my Weiss / AT-ST / 2x Elite Officer list, I was easily able to park my boats on the objectives to capture them, while blasting the ever loving crap out of any enemy foolish enough to try to knock me off of them. (You should see how fast they move and how focused your fire can be with Officers in the mix!)

As with any skirmish, victory lies in the objectives.

I guess I missed it somewhere.... where does it say that the inside out rule work only in campaign?

"Interior Spaces", RRG, Page 15:

During a campaign , figures with the Massive keyword cannot enter interior spaces.
