Light up lightsabers modification

By ldodt, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Has anyone considered using tiny led's and acrylic rods to make their lightsaber's light up?

Too much work for not enough payoff.

That said, it would be BADASS!!!

the only modification i was thinking of was for the campaign, 3D printing a tiny little sheath for Diala Passil lightsaber, and paint it to make it look like the Plasteel staff, then removing it upon receiving the lightsaber as a reward, and revealing the blue lightsaber underneath.

I remember seeing someone lighting up a b-wing's engines with small led's if there's some way to hide the wires for power might be nice.

What about using the clear acrylic material like Lego does - just something thinner, drill the hole and shove it in? Might look alright...

It would definitely look cool but I can't see where you would hide the internals/powersource in models this size unless you got really creative with the base.

If you could get a colored acrylic rod of hat size with a hollow core, you could slide in a white wire into h center and it might look really cool just like that... but, again, size is the issue.

That would be amazing! You would need to make a modified base for power and light source, then somehow hollow out Vader with a dremmel to run a wire up to the hand.

I agree with Fizz....too much work for very little payoff.....but oh sooooo Badass!!

I was thinking about Cutting off the plastic lightsaber, and replacing it with action figure lightsabers that are a see through red and blue plastic

Boy I always liked that Luke Skywalker on steroid figure.... reminds me of He-Man.
